What Shoppers Say About Lume Cube
Lume Cube products receive a 1.9 out of 5 rating from 17 shoppers, with significant durability concerns dominating feedback. Reviewers report that lights frequently fail within months to a couple of years, often shortly after or before warranty expiration. Multiple shoppers note that replacement options are limited or unavailable, and the company declines to assist with out-of-warranty failures. For premium-priced products (often cited as $150 and up), shoppers expect better longevity and compare the durability unfavorably to budget alternatives like IKEA.
Customer support emerges as a secondary but serious complaint. Reviewers report difficulty reaching the company through conventional channels, with website support requests going unanswered and chat support offering little help. Those who received responses say the company's warranty-based refusal to help creates frustration given the price point. A smaller subset of customers report their products work reliably over years, particularly for photography applications, but even satisfied long-term users express frustration with support accessibility when issues arise. One reviewer also raised concerns about the company's advertising content.

Sorted by: Most recentI really liked how the Lume Cube Edge Desk Light 2.0 looked while it was working, but it completely stopped functioning just a few weeks after my warranty ran out. Lume told me it can't be fixed and won't do anything else to help. That's a lot of money to spend on a desk light with such a short lifespan. There are tons of similar options out there from brands that actually stand behind their stuff.
You're paying premium prices but getting questionable durability. My lamp didn't work the way it was supposed to. When I called customer service, they said my warranty had already expired so there'd be no replacement or exchange. I understand their position, but for $150 you'd think the quality would be better than what you get from an Ikea lamp that costs a fifth of the price. Just go with Ikea.
I bought two Edge lights in 2023 and both have failed within the last couple months. One stopped brightening and would only stay dim, and the other did the same thing just last week. I asked about replacement bulbs and their chatbot said that's not possible. It took posting on their social media to get any response to my website support request. When I asked about a replacement head, they told me that option doesn't exist yet and offered a discount on buying a brand new unit instead. I'm still waiting to hear how good this discount actually is. I was using these about twice a week for roughly four hours at a time, so that's less than three years of part time work before they died on me. For $300 plus tax and shipping, that's pretty disappointing quality. Feels like they're selling the shiny marketing rather than a reliable product. I'm switching to a regular architect lamp where I can actually swap out the bulb. These Edge lights are sitting in storage until they get their act together. Total letdown for the money. It's interesting how they push that extended warranty option so hard on every page.
I own several Lume Cube products that work well and I rely on them regularly over the years for my nature and macro photography. But trying to get support when I have questions or concerns is absolutely maddening. I've been attempting for more than a year to get assistance with one unit that has charging problems with zero success. There's no phone line, the chat is useless, and emails go unanswered. The gear itself is practical and portable, but I'm fed up with the lack of support. It's obvious all their money goes into marketing and advertising, leaving nothing for actual customer care.
Everything was great for the first year, then the light just quit working out of nowhere and the company refused to help me out.
Your ads are completely inappropriate. Showing images under people's chests in their rear crack is ridiculous and unnecessary. Kids see this stuff and ask questions parents shouldn't have to answer. Dial back the ads and make them something everyone can actually see without feeling uncomfortable.
My $130 Edge Light packed it in after just four months. I sent multiple messages to their customer support team and never received a single response. Their warranty specifically states they'll replace defective units within the first year, but good luck getting them to acknowledge your problem.
Worst customer service I've dealt with. My light quit working so I sent multiple emails trying to get help. Instead of responding, they blocked me on Instagram. They also delete all the negative comments on there, which is why their follower counts look so inflated while actual engagement is really low. Don't believe the hype from their marketing.
I ordered an Edge Desk Light and they shipped me a used unit. The whole process took forever. I tried calling customer service and nobody picked up. I left a voicemail and got nothing back. I'm filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and reporting this to my credit card company. I'm a US Veteran and I deserve better service than this.
Lume Cube really stands out as a company. Their gear is innovative and looks fantastic, and I just grabbed the new Edge Light which is absolutely stellar. What sets them apart is how they treat customers. Their support team goes above and beyond at every touchpoint. I had a hiccup with my order and they sorted it out right away and professionally. These folks earned a repeat customer in me.
