What Shoppers Say About Pennstateind
Pennstateind has a critical customer service problem that is driving shoppers away. All reviewers report extremely poor experiences with staff, including rude representatives, excessive hold times, lack of product knowledge, and complete unresponsiveness to customer inquiries. One customer reported sending four separate messages about missing pen kit components without receiving any response, while others described being laughed at or transferred repeatedly without resolution.
While one reviewer noted that products themselves are usually decent quality, this alone cannot overcome the overwhelming service failures. Multiple shoppers explicitly stated they switched to competitors like Rockler and Amazon due to these experiences, suggesting that poor customer service is directly impacting the company's ability to retain business.

Sorted by: Most recentReally disappointed with my experience. I called their customer service team and spoke with a sales rep, but they kept transferring me around and putting me back on hold for long stretches. The whole process was frustrating. I ended up ordering from Rockler instead and everything went perfectly. I'm not sure how this company stays afloat, but I won't be giving them another chance.
Called to ask about a product and the person who answered was extremely rude. Their products might be okay, but the way staff treats customers is a huge turnoff. Amazon and Rockler treat people way better. I won't deal with a company where the employees act like that.
Their website has outdated product information. There's a PDF order form listed, so I called to place an order based on it. The first person who picked up acted like I was crazy for even calling about it and clearly had no idea what I was talking about. Then they put me through to another guy who actually laughed at me and said they stopped carrying those items years ago. How am I supposed to know that? If it's still on their website, why should I assume it's not available? The attitude was completely unprofessional and rude. Really disappointing experience.
Extremely poor customer service. I've sent 4 messages total through email and their website contact form about missing components for some pen kits I purchased, and I haven't gotten a single response back. The products themselves are usually decent quality, which makes this even more frustrating. It's disrespectful that they won't communicate with customers. Their priority seems to be making sales rather than taking care of people after the purchase. Fast delivery and fair prices don't mean anything when you can't get help. I'm stuck with two incomplete pens that I can't assemble because parts are missing, and the company refuses to answer me. I'm taking my business elsewhere.
