What Shoppers Say About Prodigy Game
Prodigy Game receives overwhelmingly negative feedback from shoppers, with 12 reviews averaging 1.8 out of 5. The primary complaint across reviews is aggressive monetization and pay-to-win mechanics that create paywalls as players progress. Reviewers report that pets require payment to level up further, new mini-games and currencies (like magicoin) demand real money to fully access, and even account modifications require a membership. Several shoppers also note that a recent redesign degraded the game's look and feel, with one reviewer reporting that account progress was reset following the update. Additional frustrations include comparison to Pokemon (unfavorably), limited classroom adoption, and support that allegedly requires payment for basic account fixes.
A small minority of reviewers praise Prodigy as an effective math game, though these positive opinions represent roughly 16 percent of feedback and lack detail compared to the specific complaints. The consensus among dissatisfied users is that the game prioritizes subscription revenue over gameplay quality and accessibility, with one parent expressing particular frustration that account corrections require membership payment rather than being handled by customer support.

Sorted by: Most recentGetting rid of your account is way harder than it should be. The delete option is hidden deep in the help section, and you have to fill out a form and email it to them. Be careful before you sign up for a subscription. I really hope regulators start looking into sites that make it this difficult to close an account.
My daughter had developed a real anxiety around math at school, so I wanted to help her get over that fear. With some guidance from me, she started feeling a bit better, and then Prodigy took things further. She went from struggling in her class to being one of the top performers. The game works like Pokemon where you catch creatures and battle them to level up while fighting an evil wizard. To attack during a battle, you have to solve a math problem. It's simple but really works well. The problem is she finished every challenge and collected basically every pet available about a year and a half to two years back. Since then, the Prodigy team hasn't added anything new except some updated graphics, which apparently were good enough to keep lots of kids playing. She checks back sometimes hoping they've added new levels or special events, but she's always let down. Now she's going even longer between visits. The good news is she's built a solid foundation in math, so it wasn't a total loss. It's disappointing that the Prodigy people don't keep developing and expanding the game with fresh content.
