What Shoppers Say About Stash Tea
Stash Tea receives polarized feedback, with roughly equal proportions of five-star and one-star ratings. Shoppers who are satisfied praise the quality of the tea flavors themselves and highlight the company's responsive customer service, including quick refunds for returns. However, the majority of reviewers report significant operational problems that overshadow the product quality: defective tea bags that rupture during brewing and release loose leaves into cups, orders that remain delayed for weeks without communication or updates, subscription account management features that have disappeared from the website, and weak tea formulations, particularly in decaf blends, that do not deliver satisfactory results even when using multiple bags per cup.
The recurring issues suggest systemic problems with product packaging quality, order fulfillment, website functionality, and product consistency rather than isolated incidents. Customers express frustration with lack of responsiveness to complaints and unresolved problems that persist over time. While the tea itself is appreciated by some, the combination of defective packaging, operational delays, and customer service gaps creates a significant gap between the product promise and the customer experience for a substantial portion of reviewers.

Sorted by: Most recentI made two orders in quick succession and needed to return a couple items. The mugs didn't match what was shown online, and the tea box came damaged as a gift. Left three separate voicemails over seven days and sent two emails starting two weeks ago, but haven't gotten a single response. Their greeting says they'll call back within one business day, so this is pretty disappointing for a first impression.
Had a terrible situation here. My cousin sent me a gift that was supposed to be a tea chest with 80 bags inside. It arrived with only two bags. I contacted them to ask if they could send the rest, and instead of just doing that, they told me I had to ship the box back to them first, which is a huge inconvenience for me. They said they couldn't send the missing tea because of their policies. When I pointed out that they shouldn't have a policy that makes customers fix company mistakes, I didn't get a real answer. What's crazy is how unnecessary this whole thing is. They could have just sent the tea. I'm honestly shocked they have any kind of certification.
Tried three different flavors from Stash: Raspberry Hibiscus, Ginger Peach, and Double Spice Chai. Absolutely loved the Wild Raspberry Hibiscus! All three were really tasty. Thanks Stash, you've got a repeat customer here. Already planning my next purchase!
Ordered a teapot as a gift that arrived with a small chip. Reached out to Stash with a photo and got an apology plus an offer to refund or replace it. Just six minutes after I emailed asking for a replacement, their shipping team sent me an email with tracking info already. They really went the extra mile for me!
I'm pretty shocked that a company with this reputation would basically rip me off over less than 30 dollars. Ordered some tea and received a completely wrong item. They claimed it wasn't their product even though the shipping label clearly had their name on it. They sent me a return label with no tracking number. When I asked questions about it, they just ignored me, so I had to use what they gave me. Then they said they never got it back, but offered a replacement anyway. Next thing I know, they changed their mind and refused. Wouldn't even file an insurance claim for the damaged product I actually received. Lost 30 bucks for nothing. Stay away from them.
