What Shoppers Say About Insta360
Insta360's store is polarized, with shoppers either highly satisfied or deeply frustrated. Positive reviewers praise the quality of the cameras themselves, particularly for outdoor and sports use, along with smooth payment processing, fast delivery, and free international shipping. However, a substantial portion of customers report serious issues with customer service responsiveness, refund and warranty claim denials, product performance problems (notably low-light video quality and flickering), and shipping errors that go unresolved despite repeated contact attempts.
The recurring complaint centers on customer support: shoppers report difficulty reaching the company via email and chat, claims being rejected without clear explanation, and problems being compounded rather than resolved. Several reviewers with significant purchases (hundreds of dollars) felt abandoned when issues arose, suggesting that post-sale support may not match the initial buying experience.

Sorted by: Most recentI got the camera bundle from their site and was really looking forward to using it on vacation. Got a confirmation that it shipped, but then nothing else. The tracking system said delivered, but the proof was just some random street photo that had nothing to do with my address or the package itself. I complained to support and they basically ignored me. After a week of back and forth emails, all they offered was 10 percent off to buy again. That makes no sense. Why would I pay a second time for something I never got in the first place? They claim they fought with the delivery company but lost the dispute. But that shouldn't be my issue. I didn't choose Royal Mail. If there's a shipping problem, they should resend it and figure out the payment stuff themselves. When you pay for something, it needs to actually show up.
Grabbed an X5 through their store and had it shipped directly to my brother. Everything arrived without damage and the packaging was really solid.
One star because that's how many items I actually got out of the two I ordered back in the summer. I placed an order for a microphone cover and a big storage card, but the card never showed up. I immediately told customer support about the missing item. They wouldn't refund me or give me anything because I didn't film myself opening the box to prove it was missing. I honestly never thought I'd need to make an unboxing video to shop somewhere, especially not from a brand I believed had standards. So here's what I'd tell everyone else: make sure you record yourself opening your package, just to be safe. It sucks that such good camera gear is paired with such bad customer support and shipping problems.
Purchased the X5 Essentials Bundle but never received it. The store isn't helping me deal with this. I've been waiting and waiting for a whole week with no answers. Is this how they normally treat customers?
Never got a response from their customer service. I reached out with questions in chat and via email, and waited over a week with nothing back. This was just for sales inquiries. I can't imagine how slow they'd be with actual customer problems or technical support. Lucky for me I only asked about the product and didn't commit to buying. They clearly aren't interested in helping customers. Saved myself the headache. Seriously, stay away from their products unless you want to deal with a company that ignores your messages.
My connection tests at 650 megabits per second, but when uploading to their cloud service on that same network, it barely hits 8 to 14 megabits. That's incredibly slow. And there's more bad news. The app itself is honestly one of the worst pieces of software I've used. It's packed with bugs and barely functions like it should.
This would have been a one star review at first because they charged my card for almost 500 dollars but sent zero confirmation, no shipping notice, and weren't answering questions. When I finally did hear back, they asked for details I'd already given and things seemed stuck. Then after my credit card company filed a chargeback, suddenly the order shows up in my email with a tracking number. That made it pretty clear the order existed all along, just got buried somewhere. The camera arrived in perfect condition and is fantastic. I cancelled the dispute because the company is legit. Not sure what went wrong but it's worth paying attention to, especially during busy shopping seasons like the end of the year.
What a joke! The return process is basically nonexistent. Want to send something back? You get to pay to ship it all the way to Hong Kong! Their stuff is really good, don't get me wrong, but customer service and support options? Forget about it.
The customer service here is absolutely terrible. They'll only give you a refund if you cover the cost of shipping the item back to China yourself. I'm never purchasing their stuff again.
Got the motorcycle bundle during their holiday sale with extras like lenses, battery, and storage card. The package arrived on the 27th looking fine on the outside. But when I opened it, only the mounting bracket, memory card, and lenses were inside. The actual camera and battery were completely missing. That's over 500 bucks down the drain for nothing. Since it was meant as a gift, I ended up going to a local retailer and buying an X3 instead. Their online store is risky. Don't purchase from them unless you want to risk losing your money.
