VOLT Lighting Reviews
What Shoppers Say About VOLT Lighting
VOLT Lighting receives sharply divided feedback from shoppers, with ratings split between strong satisfaction and serious concerns. Customers who had positive experiences praise the company's responsive customer service (noting you can reach a real person by phone) and willingness to swap out defective items like burned-out bulbs and broken fixtures. These shoppers also appreciate the quality of the landscape and outdoor lighting products, though they acknowledge the higher price point.
However, a significant portion of reviews raise red flags about product authenticity and return procedures. Multiple shoppers report receiving used or burned-out fixtures presented as new merchandise, complete with reapplied UL stickers. Additional complaints focus on the return process, which requires customers to ship defective items first and wait weeks before receiving replacements, along with issues like extended backorder delays, receiving downgraded product versions, and difficulty obtaining refunds for installation costs associated with defective merchandise.

Sorted by: Most recentWatch out, this company is pulling a fast one on customers. VOLT is passing off used and burned-out fixtures as brand new merchandise. They're even reapplying the UL stickers! The products show obvious wear and tear. There's zero chance of getting your money back for the costs of installing and uninstalling defective items. We've purchased from them three separate times, and the pattern never changes. Heads up: these fixtures aren't actually UL certified.
VOLT Lighting really came through for us! We invested in some landscape lighting fixtures and while they weren't cheap, the quality is worth it. What really impressed us was how great their customer service is. You can actually reach a real person when you call! Anything that goes wrong, whether it's a burned-out bulb or a broken fixture, they swap it out at no cost and do it fast. Would definitely recommend them.
The products themselves work fine, but dealing with returns has been a real hassle. What bothers me most is that they require you to send back broken items first before shipping replacements. As a customer, it's annoying to have to hunt down packaging materials and then wait weeks just to get a defective light swapped out.
Today I had a really disappointing conversation with their customer service team. I've spent over two grand on their fixtures purchased through a retailer. I've called about seven LED bulbs that stopped working. Their response is to have me mail in the bad bulbs so they can verify there's actually a problem before sending replacements. That means I'll be doing the job twice! The representative wasn't helpful or particularly nice. It doesn't make sense that they keep my payment info on file and can charge me, but I have to jump through hoops to return defects. As a homeowner, I just want to swap out the broken bulbs I've already taken down.
My solar spotlight order got put on backorder and took half a year to finally arrive. I could've dealt with the wait, but they shipped a lower-quality version of the same product at the same price point. Then when I got it installed, it didn't even work properly!
