SeaWorld Reviews
SeaWorld is rated 2.1 out of 5 by 25 shoppers, with a majority of reviews expressing dissatisfaction with the experience. Common complaints include malfunctioning attractions with long wait times, expensive food portions that do not match advertised sizes, poor facility maintenance (dirty bathrooms, overflowing trash), slow ride operations, and staff issues ranging from rudeness to inadequate customer service. Some visitors also express ethical concerns about the park's animal practices. A small group of reviewers appreciated the park's appearance and some past experiences, but current visits have not met expectations compared to competitor theme parks like Disney and Universal.
While a minority of shoppers gave positive ratings, the overwhelming feedback suggests operational and service problems overshadow the park's attractions. Reviewers report specific issues such as rides breaking down or closing unexpectedly, Quick Queue passes not being honored properly, disappointing special experiences (such as animal encounters), and inadequate staff training. The high cost of admission combined with these service failures and overpriced food has led most recent visitors to describe their experience as a waste of money and not comparable to other major theme parks in the area.
Really disappointing experience. The workers were rude and the food was ridiculously overpriced. The performances were lackluster and the whole vibe felt off. We paid extra for my daughter to do the beluga whale encounter and it was a complete letdown. Total waste of money and ruined part of our Orlando vacation.
I enjoyed SeaWorld years ago, but it's declining now. Last night's DJ was terrible, couldn't mix properly and kept playing old 80s music. Looked like a kid was just messing around with the equipment. The bathrooms were disgusting, no toilet paper and terrible odor. Trash cans were overflowing. Portions are tiny for what you pay. Everything costs way too much. The decorations look tired and worn out. Way too few staff members working.
Waited in line for Manta and it broke down. Got in line for Pipeline and it closed. Spent 35 dollars just to enter and managed to ride one attraction. Grabbed a sandwich for 17 dollars that looked huge in the pictures but turned out to be tiny.
I'm really bothered by SeaWorld's licensed capture of a giant Manta ray near Panama City for their facility. This can't possibly be ethical. It upset me tremendously. Please put a stop to this practice.
The park itself looks decent, but it doesn't come close to matching Disney or Universal. Ride dispatches were incredibly slow, sometimes taking 4 to 5 minutes between coaster trains. Even though we purchased the Quick Queue pass, we got stuck in the regular queue early on and nobody bothered checking our tickets. Don't throw your money at this place. Pipeline and Mako are smooth and beautiful rides, the only bright spots. But Manta and Kraken feel aged and pretty rough. The All-Day Dining plan disappointed us too. Food quality was mediocre and the wait times were absurd. At Seafire Grill we waited 15 minutes just to order, then another 30 for food served by one person working at a snail's pace. If we hadn't already paid, we would've left. The stingray encounter was a nice break from the crowds. The orca show was okay but nothing special. Overall felt like a park charging top dollar for a bottom-tier experience.
We visited two decades ago and had wonderful memories. Thought we'd return and check it out again, but the park was packed with school groups everywhere. Temperature hit 36 degrees and after getting through ticketing at 9:30, we had to wait in a roped-off area until 10am to proceed. It felt like everyone rushed at once. Why not let guests stream in gradually when it's that hot? Then the entrance bridge didn't open until 11. We wanted to ride Infinity Falls but it wasn't open until 11am, causing another huge crowd surge. By then wait times were incredibly long, so we only managed two rides before leaving. Felt like a total waste of money and left us really frustrated.
I had a season pass and tried repeatedly to fix a problem where I couldn't get my passes to load in the app or website. I spent considerable time on hold without getting any real help. Meanwhile, SeaWorld kept charging me for passes I couldn't access, despite calling multiple times. When I finally connected with a representative, they told me it was 'my fault' for not driving to Orlando to look into it in person. They claimed my passes worked fine and blamed me for not using them. The rep hung up on me twice and showed zero professionalism or willingness to listen. Nobody would help or even cancel passes I couldn't use. I just want money back for the months I couldn't access what I paid for. The whole experience was frustrating and disrespectful. My family has decided not to come back. A company this big should care about keeping customers happy and holding themselves accountable, but instead they acted like they didn't care about me at all. Really disappointing.
We're done with this place. My parents dropped about 1000 dollars for our tickets to enjoy the rides, and it was a total disaster. After riding two attractions, we got on another that shut down partway through and we had to exit. Then we tried a river ride but it broke down right before we reached it, so we left the line. Our quick pass didn't work on a water ride because apparently it was the wrong type, which is ridiculous because SeaWorld never mentioned needing a different pass for those rides. We got stuck in the main line, and it kept breaking and restarting. Guests were stranded on the ride in the hot sun, and after wasting two hours waiting, the whole thing shut down as broken. When we finally got out, only ONE ride in the entire park was working. We went to complain and they treated us like we were making it up, insisting rides worked perfectly all day, which was nonsense. Workers were even laughing at us while we complained. There was a dad and his daughter next to us doing the same thing, and they had driven all the way from Kansas to visit the San Antonio location.
The animal shows are a blast and really entertaining. Lots of cool rides and roller coasters to enjoy throughout the park. The Christmas events are fantastic for families of all ages. They put on incredible holiday celebrations with genuine Christmas tunes, amazing light shows, and ice skating performances that people actually want to watch.
The animal performances are entertaining and the roller coasters are exciting. The rides are fun for the whole family, and they run fantastic Christmas celebrations throughout the year. The holiday events feature live Christmas music, impressive light displays, and enjoyable ice skating shows for everyone.
It's wrong how these animals are being treated. How can anyone watch this and be okay with it? You have to be completely numb to think separating an animal baby from its mother and family is something to laugh at. It's embarrassing and unacceptable.
My partner and I enjoyed a fantastic cruise lunch experience. The buffet offered great options and we connected with some wonderful guests from overseas. Our cruise captain made conversation enjoyable, and the service staff were friendly and accommodating. It was an excellent visit overall. We also stayed overnight and dined at their Japanese restaurant where our server was personable, well-informed, and very attentive. We had a delightful breakfast the next morning. Highly recommend this resort and cruise package. We'll definitely return.
My husband and I took the SeaWorld cruise for lunch and had a wonderful experience. The buffet was lovely and we met some nice people from out of the country. The cruise captain was charming and engaging, and the staff member serving us was absolutely delightful. Everything was perfect. We stayed over and went to the Japanese restaurant where our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful. Breakfast was delicious. We'd recommend the resort and cruise services to anyone and definitely plan to go back.
Skip this place. The rides and equipment aren't well maintained and experience constant technical issues. The actual shows themselves are underwhelming. There are better ways to spend your time and money.
We've been gold members at the Orlando location for years and loved it, but something changed when we brought our son to the Sesame Street area. On two recent visits, my sister faced discrimination while trying to join rides with her family. She's a bit heavy but not excessively so, and she's been fine on rides at other major parks like Legoland. The first time, staff walked her out as she was boarding. Minutes later, another woman who was actually heavier got on the same ride without issue. We didn't make a fuss because we wanted the day to be good for the kids. Today almost happened again on a different ride in that same area, but we were ready and pushed back. It bothers me especially since we're Native American Sioux. Why is this happening most in the kids section? My son shouldn't have to witness this, and my sister and my son both left feeling really uncomfortable about what went down both times. Staff needs serious training on treating all guests fairly. This is unacceptable.
