  • Some codes apply only to specific products or subscription tiers, so ensure your cart contains eligible items.
  • The code might be restricted to new customers only, so verify eligibility requirements listed with the offer.
  • Transunion may require the code to be entered in a specific field at checkout rather than a general discount box, so look carefully for labeled promo code fields.

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Transunion receives overwhelmingly negative feedback, with shoppers reporting severe technical issues on the website, including login failures, account access problems, and account lockouts. Customers consistently describe customer service as poor, with representatives frequently transferring calls between departments, dropping calls, and being unable to resolve issues in a timely manner. Several reviewers mention frustration with recent system changes, including concerns about an AI system implementation that has reportedly caused service disruptions. A small minority of users report positive experiences, noting straightforward account setup and helpful features like fraud alert reminders.

Common complaints center on the reliability and security of the platform. Reviewers express concerns about overly strict security measures that appear to malfunction, preventing legitimate users from accessing their accounts. Some shoppers question whether Transunion should maintain access to personal credit data without explicit consent. The consistent theme across negative reviews is that the company's technical infrastructure is broken and customer support lacks the training and resources to address widespread problems effectively.

If you ever need a credit report, please ask them to use literally any other credit agency instead of Transunion. Their customer service is absolutely terrible. The website is completely broken. You can log in fine one day and get blocked the next. Their security seems way too strict and isn't working right. When you call for help, they make you answer a bunch of questions, then connect you to someone who asks all the same questions over again. Somewhere in the middle of this nightmare, the agent sends you a link to verify who you are. After you do that, it opens a completely new session where you have to put in all your information one more time. They keep making customers repeat the same steps again and again without ever actually acknowledging the problem on their end. Transunion isn't a credit reporting agency. It's a credit nightmare agency. I hate them.

I tried to change my phone provider FIVE TIMES and couldn't do it because Transunion keeps messing around with some AI system. CIAM.TUI is the reason this whole thing fell apart. As someone who used to run IT departments, I've seen plenty of problems, and I'm worried Transunion's AI experiment is going to cause real damage.

I'm taking back my complaint. I give up. I'm hoping you'll bring back my credit score that I worked really hard to build. Thanks.

Setting up an account was straightforward, and the website even reminded me when my fraud alert needed refreshing. Everything's working well so far.

Totally incompetent operation with terrible customer service and a broken website. The only reason they're still around is because they illegally hold onto people's data without permission. I never signed up for anything, never gave them permission to have my information, but they keep it anyway. This is an illegal company that shouldn't exist.

For months now I've been struggling to log in and view my credit information. I've talked to many different people who keep bouncing me between departments and dropping calls. Their customer service training is clearly lacking. They're telling me it'll be a while before they fix their system so I can get to my info.

Ticketmaster told me about a security breach and gave me a code to sign up for credit monitoring on mytrueidentity. Between September 17 and 21, 2024, I spent roughly two hours following their exact instructions and it didn't work. I tried enrolling at least 7 times and called their customer service twice but they couldn't fix it. The reps sounded like they were calling from overseas. The error codes on their site didn't make sense. The second person kept telling me a supervisor would call within 72 hours. That time has passed and nobody called. Since they messed up enrolling me, I'm pretty sure their credit monitoring service is fake anyway. I'm grateful I didn't have to actually use this terrible company.

WARNING TO EVERYONE!!! This is a total scam operation! These people are fine with stealing from you, committing fraud, and getting away with it. They even seem to encourage scamming people through their terrible customer service. I feel dumb for not looking into this credit monitoring thing properly before signing up. Turns out they've been running this fraudulent scheme for way longer than I realized. They won't refund you for their intentional fraudulent charges and won't let you talk to a manager about the corporate fraud their staff promotes. They don't care if that money was supposed to be for groceries or gas. They literally stole from me. I was with them for literally ONE HOUR. I canceled right after paying the dollar for the fake free trial. They charged me the full monthly price anyway even though I canceled right away. I was absolutely furious when I found out. Read all the bad reviews everywhere because these people are proven crooks. I'm waiting for my credit card company to help me get my money back.

Transunion tanked my credit score when I opened a new bank account at Santander. I used their account switching service, but when my old account closed two weeks later, they never restored my original score. It's really strange because my old account had an overdraft I could use but never touched, and the new one doesn't have one. Their ratings seem totally made up and have nothing to do with your actual financial situation.

Gregory L.Feb 20, 2023

Their information is completely inaccurate. In my situation, they're saying I missed paying utility bills that actually belong to someone renting my property long term. Now my once excellent credit score looks bad and I'm going to have to deal with fixing this mess. They're ridiculous.

I never even asked for their service. They got my info from my bank, which is fine. The problem is the information is wrong. They show me as not registered to vote even though I'm registered, vote in every election, and even ran for local office. I emailed them and called them to fix it. But they keep passing the responsibility to my bank and telling me to get documents from the local government. Why should I have to do their job when I never asked for their service? I explained everything but the representative wasn't truthful with me. The next day they emailed saying they can't update it and the wrong information stays. Are you serious? This is rude.

I see my credit score in my bank app. It barely explained why my score went down from 825 to 795, losing 30 points. So I got a credit report from Transunion, who gives the score to my bank. Every creditor is listed and everything is green except one yellow section meaning I've been paying well. Nothing explains the 30 point drop. I'm desperate to understand where I messed up or if I even messed up at all because it could be something like closing an account. I waited forever to talk to someone. The representative barely speaks English. He mentions something about real estate and a balance. I ask him to say it again. It makes no sense. He goes quiet. Then stammers. It's obvious to me they're hiring people who can barely communicate. They can't explain anything. He says something and then he just hangs up. I can hear what sounds like either him missing the button or taking his headset off right before we get disconnected. I think he didn't understand anything about this so that's why he hung up. They'd probably claim it was accidental.

Isn't it wonderful when a company has total control over your financial future and treats you like dirt? The fact that they haven't even closed this account shows you everything you need to know about how they handle regular people like us. They keep dropping my credit score for absolutely no reason. Maybe they don't like that I work hard to keep my credit good so they just decide to wreck it for no real reason. Amazing. They charge ridiculous fees just to see your score, and then trick you into getting a 3 report thing only to discover you have to pay even more after already paying. Brilliant. My account is constantly going down for maintenance. It's crazy. They can do whatever they want whenever they want and we can't do anything about it. They're huge, we're tiny, they're powerful, we're powerless. They can erase us from existence and we just have to accept it. We have to beg for scraps because everything depends on credit scores. What a messed up system. We just have to deal with it.

This place is absolutely awful. Their website is a nightmare and their phone system is even worse.

Sandra V.Aug 4, 2020

Extremely bad service from staff who don't actually want to help but are super eager to push their paid credit report page. Bet they're working on commission.
