Vinyl Me, Please Reviews
Vinyl Me, Please has a divided customer base, with nearly 60 percent of shoppers giving five-star ratings, citing strong music curation and high-quality vinyl pressings as standout features. However, the remaining 40 percent report significant frustrations, particularly around order fulfillment delays (some lasting over a year on pre-orders), unresponsive customer service, forced payment plan requirements, and a decline in membership value since changes to the club structure. Several long-time members feel the service has deteriorated from its earlier reputation.
Common complaints center on operational issues rather than product quality itself. Customers report difficulty reaching support, missing digital gift cards, mandatory Afterpay integration that limits payment flexibility, and lack of communication about shipping delays and refund policies. While the vinyl quality itself receives consistent praise, the purchasing experience, customer service responsiveness, and transparency around order status and policies are areas where shoppers say the company needs improvement.
The requirement to use afterpay is pretty annoying. I wanted to use a different payment option and I got automatically locked into a monthly payment plan when I just wanted to buy a gift outright. This forced me to manually pay each installment separately after I'd already placed the order, which was a real hassle.
I placed a pre-order for the TLC Fanmail reissue back in February 2024. It was supposed to drop in July, then got pushed to December, and then moved again to March 2025. We're in mid-April now and still nothing. No updates, no explanations about where my vinyl is or why I've been waiting over a year after paying. I've tried contacting them multiple times over the last month with zero responses. They used to reply fast, but now it feels like nobody's running the place anymore. I'd skip ordering from VMP because your order might never show up.
VMP had a rough beginning, then things got really solid for a while, but last year around this time everything kind of fell apart. As a member you used to get access to some fantastic albums, and that program disappeared. Now membership just means you get first access to whatever's left in their inventory, basically the records that nobody else wanted. With this new setup, if I was interested in those titles I would've bought them already.
You're just a shadow of what you used to be. The monthly selections are disappointing. The new club structure doesn't work either. I'm giving it three more months to see if things turn around.
I still think VMP is fantastic, their taste in music is great and the vinyl pressing is top notch. That said, they really ought to improve their shipping operations so they can lower prices and actually take care of international members as real customers. Also, they should be clear about replacement and refund terms, like within half a year with a limit of three replacements or refunds max. I know we vinyl fans can be picky, but we're all looking for VMP and the service to succeed together.
I should've checked the reviews before buying a digital gift card for my nephew. I remember getting one for him a couple years ago without problems, but their customer service has clearly gone downhill. My gift card never showed up. I've tried to get in touch five times in seven days and only got one reply from them a few days back saying they'd talk to the team. It's literally just a digital card, how hard is that to send? Really disappointed.
The support team really came through for me! They fixed my problem fast, efficiently, and with real professionalism. Really thankful!
Amazing experience with their customer support! The rep handled my problem in a fast, smooth, and professional manner. Really grateful for the help!
Consistent excellent service paired with outstanding product quality every time.
I'll give VMP credit where it's due because they really do make quality vinyl. But their customer service and subscription setup leave a lot to be desired. They advertise that you can switch your monthly pick for a different record, but the moment you try to swap for something that's in demand they'll just cancel your swap without telling you. When you contact their support team about it, they say there's nothing they can do. For records costing over 40 bucks, that's completely unacceptable. I won't be going back to them.
The records came in really quickly and they're absolutely stunning. The sound quality is incredible too.
