About Vitacost

Vitacost offers a wide range of organic, natural, and eco-friendly products, including personal care items, pet supplies, coffee, tea, and beverages. They are particularly known for their extensive selection of vitamins and supplements.

Guided by the motto ‘Wellness for Everyone,’ Vitacost has made its mark in supporting community health. The brand presents itself as more than just a shopping site; it is a lifestyle. At its core, Vitacost believes that everyone deserves good health, no matter their age, background, or walk of life.

Vitacost pays close attention to customer needs by dividing products into six main categories tailored to different eating styles. This makes it easier for shoppers to quickly find what suits them best, with options like Keto, Sugar-Free, Soy-Free, and Vegan.

Vitacost supports a community program called Zero Hunger, drawing attention to the fact that almost 40% of food produced in the U.S. is wasted. Every year, 229 million tons of food go unsold or uneaten, and some never even make it off the farm. At the same time, nearly 42 million Americans—about one in eight—face hunger. The contrast is shocking.

The mission of Zero Hunger is to make fresh, affordable food accessible to everyone.

You can find Vitacost on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.

Every package missing items or damaged

Lately every package is either missing items or some items are damaged. I don’t know who is doing the packing, but they should try to do a better job.

Do not use Vitacost

Do not use Vitacost. I placed an order Dec 4 and never received the product. They immediately billed my charge card. Their tracking system says website not working. They do not respond to emails requesting a refund. I’ve spoken twice to them by phone. They just drag you along saying it takes 3to 5 days to review request. It has been past 5 days and still no response. But they don’t have a problem sending countless emails trying to get you to buy more product. Other companies sell their products same products. Use another company not Vitacost.

Worst company experience I’ve had

Worst company experience I’ve had. Every interaction with Vitacost’s customer service has been extremely frustrating. The representatives were rude, unhelpful, and showed zero empathy. After going back and forth multiple times just to “verify” my account, I still have not received my daughter’s vitamins. For a company that sells health products, their customer service is shockingly poor. They clearly do not care about their customers or resolving issues. I will not be using Vitacost again after this experience.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Shipped incorrect items and called to have shipped the correct items and they overcharged me. I spent 1.5 hours trying to resolve as no refund was issued. I could go on and on but it would take to long. RUN FROM THIS COMPANY.

I NO LONGER RECOMMEND VITACOST!!

If I could give ZERO stars for Vitacost, I would. I was a long-term customer of Vitacost for 15+ years and used to rave about how great they were to others. Not anymore! I used to feel Vitacost was a quality, trustable company but now...I find them untrustworthy and unreliable. There's been too many poor experiences and examples of poor customer service that it's changed how I feel. I have now decided to take my business elsewhere. I suspect the overall decline and poor customer service has something to do with them being purchased by a corporation (Kroger Co) and now business functions are being outsourced to third-party providers that care about profits, not customer service. Corporations are hungrily driven by profits and growth, so I suspect that in order for Kroger to cut costs and increase profits from Vitacost, they began outsourcing their customer service and possibly other business functions. This is my personal opinion. All of the customer service agents that I've spoken with in recent years have very strong accents, (possibly from India?), which makes me suspect outsourcing. All I know is the quality of customer service, the lack of follow-through and the attitude reflected towards the customer has changed and significantly declined to a new and disappointing level. Interacting with them no longer has that personable and friendly feel. I'm not permitted to paste links on Trustpilot but search online for "Kroger-Outsourcing Task Force" and it explains how Kroger DOES indeed outsource. All I know is Vitacost has changed and not for the better. It's very disappointing. Several times I've been told that someone would contact me to resolve an issue or explain why they suddenly canceled my order without any explanation or notice given, and nobody ever contacted me. I received the email confirming my order which included the order #, but no order was sent. I have to take a particular supplement daily for health reasons and depended on that order to arrive. After waiting 2 weeks and not getting my order, I contacted Vitacost only to be told that for "some unknown reason" my order was canceled. Someone within Vitacost canceled it. Odd. And since they didn't bother to notify me that they canceled my order, I waited 2 weeks for nothing and ran out of my supplement. No explanation, no apology, nothing. What terrible customer service and poor business practices! The customer service rep told me he messaged the finance dept and relayed my concerns regarding my order being canceled and then assured me that someone would contact me. As I've mentioned, several months have passed now and I've heard nothing. If there's an issue, how can I resolve it if nobody communicates why they canceled my order in the first place?Another issue I had with them was very high and unexpected shipping charges. They advertised a special shipping deal on a particular high-quality, more expensive supplement brand which stated that if I were to buy $25 or more of that brand, I'd qualify for FREE shipping. I tried ordering $46 of that particular brand, which would have qualified me for free shipping, but when I went to order, they attempted to charge me $49.99 for shipping. Good thing I caught it before submitting my order! When I contacted customer service about it, they stated I didn't qualify for that free shipping offer because I was using a PO Box. What?! Nowhere on that product page did it specify that the shipping deal excluded using a PO Box address. There was only a colored banner on the product page stating, "free shipping if I ordered $25 or more". And get this, if I would have had it mailed to my house instead of my PO Box, which was 2 miles from where my PO Box was, I wouldn't have been charged $49.99 for shipping; it would have been free. Huh? Come on now, that seems like deceptive advertising practices to me. That's what I mean, they've started having a shifty, dishonest feeling to them now. Do a Google search online for "Vitacost reviews" and you'll be amazed at how many people are having the same bad experiences with Vitacost now and saying the same thing. After they canceled my order for no reason given, I decided to take my business elsewhere and ordered all of my products through another company, one of Vitacost's competitors. I got the same price and guess what, they gave me free shipping. Imagine that. I honestly feel, in my personal opinion, that Vitacost has become more concerned with their profit margins and less concerned about the quality of service they're providing to their customers. I NO LONGER ORDER THROUGH VITACOST, and I NO LONGER RECOMMEND THEM to anyone. I feel that in my personal opinion, they've become a greedy, shifty, dishonest company. Please research reviews online first before ordering from them.

Never received the order

Never received the order. After waiting a few days, I followed up on the status of the order through the chat system. I was told that the order wasn't processed because I didn't answer a follow up email to validate the order (requiring shipping address, name, last four digits of CC). I received an earlier order confirmation but no follow up validation email.I told them I never received the email and I checked my spam folder. I also didn't understand why the same information was required in a separate validation email, when they already should have had the original information in my order confirmation. It was only a $43 order. Nevertheless, I gave the requested information to the chat agent anyway, who said he would forward it to the order department to process and ship the order. After another four days, I follow up again on the order and was told it was cancelled. Why? Because they say I never responded to a validation email I never received. They asked me to place another order. Why would I do that just to go through the same thing again? It shouldn't be this annoying to place an order with a company and give them my money, so I'll just go elsewhere.

Vitacost is an EXTREMELY DISHONEST outfit

Vitacost is an EXTREMELY DISHONEST outfit. They offer you a 20% discount and then prevent you from checking out. I then phoned them. The representative tells me that it is true the code applies but that I should pay the amount that is wrong because their website is broken and they can do nothing about it! I buy online and if this had happened with another outlet they would correct it manually. The rep also refused to allow me to speak to a supervisor saying it was a "small" purchase. The purchase total before the discount was $70.77.
