I'm a regular at the Waffle House in Holland, Ohio, and there's a reason for that. The food is genuinely good and fresh, not like typical fast food garbage. They keep their menu focused on doing fewer things really well with great quality. You can tell the kitchen knows what they're doing. Their burgers are excellent and served on the bun the right way so it actually stays together while you eat. They also make a solid chicken sandwich and a cheese steak sandwich that are both top notch. The breakfast items are cooked to order perfectly every time. When you walk in, you're treated like family. The food here is consistently good and made with fresh ingredients.

My sister and I went in wanting to order lunch. She got the pork chop and I wanted a grilled chicken sandwich with fries. When I ordered, the waitress insisted they've never served french fries at Waffle House. That's impossible because I definitely got a grilled chicken sandwich with fries from that same location about a year and a half ago. She got defensive and said she's worked there six years and they've never had anyone argue about fries. She had a real attitude about it. I'm frustrated because why would you serve burgers and sandwiches without offering fries? Every kid wants fries with their meal. It doesn't add up. I won't be going back to another Waffle House.

My wife and I showed up and never got any service. We arrived before several other groups but nobody bothered to greet us or take an order. I'm pretty sure we were treated differently because of our race. When we left, I thanked the nearest server and she wouldn't even look at me, just made a dismissive sound like she was glad we were leaving. This whole situation has me thinking about contacting a lawyer about what happened.

They actually charge you a fee just for ordering your food to go. That's pretty wild.

Overall, this was a disappointing visit. The staff interactions really dragged down the whole experience. The food was nothing special, just average at best. Part of my meal ended up cold and wasn't worth eating. Between the mediocre food and poor service, my tip reflected that experience, and I won't be forgetting about it for a while.

Had a really bad interaction with a waitress who was incredibly disrespectful. She was swearing and arguing with a customer who had kids with him. This wasn't even the first time we've experienced her rudeness at this location. The language and attitude were completely unprofessional and uncalled for.

Visited a Waffle House location in the Mansfield area for the first time. The service moved quickly and the food came out hot and tasty. What bothered me was watching the server wipe down plates using just her bare hands without any gloves on. She also tossed leftover food scraps into a trash can right at the table, which felt pretty unsanitary. I also noticed the cook wiping that large knife on the chopping block edge instead of properly rinsing it with water. The place itself had a nice vibe though. I'd consider going back once more, but I might bring along some hand sanitizer and rubber gloves to help out with the cleaning situation.

I used to visit the Broad River location regularly but stopped going. Now when I do go, the place is overrun with homeless people asking for food and money, with shopping carts outside. When a customer finishes eating, the unhoused folks swarm over to grab leftovers off the plates. The bathrooms have become disgusting and unusable. It's basically turned into a public restroom at this point, which makes it uncomfortable for paying customers.

This place is wild. Something totally bizarre happened when I was eating my waffles. I'm not even sure I can explain what went down, but it was definitely one of the craziest restaurant experiences I've ever had. Pretty unforgettable in the weirdest way possible.

Had a terrible experience at the Gordonsville location. There were only three customers in the place, but the manager was acting wildly inappropriate, pulling his shirt up and showing off to the female staff while cursing loudly. My eggs came overcooked when I ordered them medium, and when they replaced them, they were undercooked and sitting in melted butter. I took a couple bites and left. This was hands down the worst Waffle House experience I've ever had. The whole place seemed chaotic with staff doing whatever they wanted. I'm definitely not going back to that location.

The meal and waffles at the Charlottesville location were excellent. Amy served us with such friendliness and made us feel welcome. This was our first visit to Waffle House but it sure won't be our last. Great experience all around.

Had amazing customer service from an outstanding worker who was incredibly sweet and efficient with getting food out. Would have loved to tip him more generously because he really went above and beyond. The whole experience was fantastic from start to finish.
