Woodwind & Brasswind Reviews
Woodwind & Brasswind is rated 2.1 out of 5 by 16 shoppers, with reviews sharply divided. The majority of recent feedback centers on significant operational failures: orders that never arrive with no response to customer inquiries, items listed as in stock that turn out to be unavailable, poor tracking information, and unresponsive customer service across multiple touchpoints. Customers report waiting weeks with no updates and facing unhelpful responses when contacting support. A smaller group of satisfied customers praise the store's pricing and service, though these positive reviews lack the specific detail found in complaints.
A recurring theme in negative reviews is the breakdown in communication after purchase. Customers describe unanswered emails, generic follow-up messages with no resolution, and a sense of abandonment once orders leave the warehouse. One customer noted issues with product quality (a stuck valve on an instrument) combined with limited support for returns. Another reported difficulty unsubscribing from marketing emails despite attempting to opt out. These operational and communication issues appear to be the primary drivers of the low overall rating.
Ordered some Legere reeds that never showed up, and my emails went unanswered. Around the same time, I noticed they were listing Howarth oboes at prices that made no sense at all, which made me suspicious right away. So I wasn't shocked when my order didn't arrive. I filed a complaint through PayPal and got my refund immediately. That right there tells you everything you need to know about this place.
This has been a nightmare. I ordered some trumpet mutes that showed as in stock, but two weeks later got an email saying actually they're not available and they'll notify me when they get more. I sent several follow-up emails with no replies. Then a few weeks after that, I got another generic message saying the same thing. Over two months in and my item still hasn't come, despite what the initial listing said. Their lack of responsiveness has put me in a rough spot with school concerts coming up.
Purchased an euphonium here and one of the valves was sticking so badly it couldn't even be played. When I reached out to customer support, they said it wasn't their problem since they just sell the instruments and don't handle repairs. They wanted me to cover the return shipping costs myself and had a thirty day window to do it. This is really frustrating. I'd recommend shopping elsewhere if you're looking at wind instruments online.
Placed an order for a harmonica and spent days trying to track it down. The tracking number they provided was basically useless, and I got zero response when I emailed them twice about it. My item showed up this morning, but their website never updated to show delivery. Feels like once your package leaves their warehouse, you stop mattering as a customer. Sure, their prices are a few bucks lower than competitors, but the poor follow-up and lack of communication isn't worth it. Won't be ordering again.
I used to be happy with this company and sent things to them for repairs. Now they won't stop with the unwanted emails. You can't just unsubscribe the normal way either. They make you send a separate email to opt out. I did that and they still keep sending stuff. Just got another one today.
Made one purchase two whole years ago when my daughter needed a mask for her clarinet class. Today I got a second call and voicemail in as many days from someone claiming to be my account manager wanting to discuss a few things. Really? On a Sunday no less. This is super weird. I get enough calls from scammers without this kind of nonsense.
Stay away from this place. Once you place an order, you get hammered with promotional emails nonstop and there's nothing you can do to stop it. I clicked unsubscribe a solid ten times and went through my account settings looking for notification controls with zero luck. The emails just keep coming day after day.
This company gave me false information. I ordered some bass drum pedals in November and was told they'd arrive in December. Then they said they shipped mid-December and I'd get them within a day. I called today and they insisted everything was on backorder. Funny thing is I called the manufacturer directly and they confirmed the shipment already went out. So I got lied to. That's it for me, switching to Sweetwater from here on out.
Not sure how I ended up on their mailing list, but my inbox gets flooded with their emails day after day. Tried to unsubscribe but more keep showing up. I phoned and spoke with someone who told me their unsubscribe system was down temporarily and would be back online soon. He mentioned he'd manually remove me, though it might take a couple days. Well, I got another email from them today. Still waiting to see if this actually gets resolved in the next few days.
Just browsed their website without even making an account and immediately the emails started flooding in every single day. Like everyone else here, I clicked that unsubscribe button at least six separate times, and I also called them directly where someone promised it would be fixed right away. Spoiler alert: it wasn't. Why would anybody want to give money to a company that just harasses you constantly? That's a terrible way to run a business.
Stuck getting bombarded with emails constantly, at least daily, and there's no way to stop them. I've tried unsubscribing on their site, sent them emails, even called them up. Nothing works. This is ridiculous and honestly should be illegal. Steer clear of this company.
WWBW has become my favorite spot for getting acoustic guitars. I've purchased three from them now. Their service has been excellent and shipping was fast at no extra cost. I was able to negotiate a solid price, got expedited overnight shipping, and even scored an extra five percent discount. They didn't do the setup work, but that's fine since I prefer having my own luthier handle it anyway. Jay and Brad really made sure I'd come back. Great all around.
Bought a Suzuki MDG-300 digital piano from them on a November date and it arrived a few weeks later. Had a handyman help put it together for a fee. After spending nearly two grand on the piano plus another hundred fifty to assemble it, the thing was broken right out of the box. Called them and they said I could send it back. The issue is this piano weighs over two hundred pounds. They told me to take it apart, box it back up in that huge box, let their truck grab it, wait for a replacement, and pay another hundred fifty to set up the new one. That didn't sound great, so I asked if a technician could just fix it instead. They gave me a list of techs and eventually found someone willing to help. I'll give them credit though: once I got connected with someone, the customer service was really solid and responsive. The problem is they won't have replacement parts available until after February since everything gets shipped from overseas. So here I am stuck with a piano I paid for but can't use for at least four months after purchase.
