Xbox Reviews
Xbox receives polarized feedback with 22 shoppers rating it 2.8 out of 5. Positive reviewers consistently praise Game Pass as a major value proposition, noting the substantial library of included titles compared to competitors, and commend the Xbox controller design. However, the majority of reviews highlight serious concerns: customers report frequent issues with cloud gaming stability and constant disconnections during gameplay, outdated and cumbersome text input systems requiring character-by-character scrolling, problematic gift card redemptions where codes are flagged as already used despite appearing unused, in-game currency purchases failing to appear in accounts with unresponsive customer service, and mandatory system updates that interrupt gaming sessions. Billing and customer support appear to be recurring pain points.
The stark divide in ratings (55 percent one-star, 45 percent five-star with no middle ratings) suggests fundamentally different user experiences or expectations. While some shoppers report the service functions well for their needs, a substantial portion describes persistent technical failures, purchase fulfillment problems, and difficulty reaching support to resolve issues. The complaints about gift card fraud, undelivered digital purchases, and service reliability appear repeatedly across negative reviews.
Terrible experience. They charged me for an in-game currency package that never showed up in my account. When I asked for my money back they refused and denied the whole thing. This company's basically running a scam and they make sure you can't talk to anyone real about it because they know what they're doing is wrong
Cloud gaming is terrible. It crashes constantly throughout the day. Nothing's worse than working through a game for hours and then getting randomly disconnected right in the middle of it. Complete waste of time
So many of these reviews online are just people venting about random stuff that aren't even real issues. They come up with complaints out of nowhere but honestly Xbox is solid. The controller feels natural and the best part is Game Pass. You get a ton of titles included instead of having to buy every game like PlayStation users do
Absolutely awful. The way you input anything is stuck in the past. You're literally scrolling through a virtual keyboard one letter at a time and jumping between different keyboards just to add a symbol. It's painfully outdated. Plus every time you want to jump in and start playing, some update or patch needs to install and reboot. You're constantly typing in passwords and PINs over and over, spending like 15 minutes per entry. By the time you actually get into a game you've already spent almost an hour. Just not worth the hassle. Would tell anyone to stay away
Got a gift card for $150 showing activation on my receipt. Peeled back the protective layer and found the code. Sent it over to my spouse who's deployed and serving overseas since that's our main form of communication and how we manage to get supplies sent. When he went to redeem it the system said the code was already used. The transaction shows as cancelled but the $150 is completely gone. Really disappointed and would appreciate if someone could contact me to help sort this out
Purchased a gift card for $150 and the receipt confirmed activation. Everything seemed fine after I revealed the code underneath, so I shared it with my husband stationed abroad since that's how we stay connected and handle purchases when needed. When he tried entering it the system said it was already redeemed by someone else. The whole $150 just vanished and shows cancelled. I'm incredibly frustrated and hoping someone will reach out to help us get this resolved
I grabbed a gift card for $150 and the receipt showed it was all set. I scratched off the code and it looked perfect so I sent it to my husband who's stationed overseas serving. That's basically our main way to stay in touch plus order necessities. He entered the code and got a message saying someone else had already used it. The system showed it was cancelled but the full $150 was gone. I'm really upset about losing that money and would love someone to get back to me about fixing this
I've been with Game Pass subscription since the beginning but this new price structure is straight up excessive. They went from a reasonable monthly rate to nearly double that which is over a 50% hike. The yearly cost is now approaching triple figures honestly. For occasional gamers like myself who realistically only touch 2 or 3 games annually this makes zero sense. I'd rather just pay outright for the games I actually play than keep paying these subscription fees. It really was a good deal originally but they're clearly trying to milk their most loyal players. I cancelled and I really hope they come to their senses before the rest of us do too
Long time subscriber to Game Pass here, but this recent price increase from mid-tier to over double that is absolutely ridiculous and represents more than a 50% jump. When you do the math that's getting close to triple digits annually. For someone like me who only casually plays a few titles per year it's just not logical to keep paying. I could buy the specific games I actually want instead of renting access to a whole library. The pricing used to make sense but now it feels like they're just extracting more from dedicated customers. I ended my subscription and I'm hoping leadership sees this trend and makes changes before everyone bails
I've subscribed to Game Pass for quite a while now, but they just jacked up the monthly price from the mid-range to nearly double and it's insane. That works out to almost triple digit amounts yearly, and it just doesn't make sense anymore. I don't play constantly so spending that much for a couple games a year doesn't add up. At that price point I'm better off just purchasing the titles I want to play instead of paying to access them. It used to be a smart deal but now they're squeezing longtime fans for extra cash. I've turned off my subscription and I'm hoping they reconsider before everyone else does the same
Never had worse support than this. Two hour hold followed by a hangup. My console got banned twice and I had to fix it myself using community help. They ban hardware for basically nothing and they're still doing it to ancient systems in 2025. I was literally just playing a single player game when suddenly I got logged out and the whole console was banned. Can't figure out why
Never experienced worse support in my life. Got put on hold for hours and then they just disconnected me. My console got banned twice and I had to figure out how to restore it myself with help from online communities. Fair warning: they will ban your system for basically nothing. They're still banning older hardware in 2025 like it's still new. Somehow mine got console banned mid-game while I was playing solo content and I never found out why
Someone broke into my kid's account and I have proof they did it. Direct messages from the person who accessed it, screenshots of everything sent to support. They said they'd investigate and it might take several weeks. Next day they tell me nothing's wrong and they're not doing anything about it. A complete stranger took over an account loaded with hundreds of games and Xbox basically shrugged. That's it for us. We're done with Xbox and Microsoft products for good
Using the Series S for multiple years has been really solid for me. No issues at all with any of the games I've grabbed from the online marketplace. They all work flawlessly. Game Pass is an excellent option if you're someone who enjoys gaming regularly. Really happy with it
