Paperlesspost Reviews
Paperlesspost is rated 2.0 out of 5 by 19 shoppers, with a heavily skewed distribution favoring one-star reviews. The primary complaints center on aggressive pricing practices, with customers reporting costs of $12 or more for just one or two cards and price increases exceeding 200% for the same services. Technical issues are widespread and serious, including invites failing to send, delivery glitches, RSVP tracking failures, guest list limitations that contradict what the platform appears to offer, and problems with editing cards affecting all recipients. Customer support is criticized as unhelpful, with one reviewer reporting being told to send invites via text instead. The platform's coin-based pricing model is frequently described as expensive and greedy.
A small segment of users report positive experiences with the platform, though detailed praise is limited in available reviews. Some appreciate the basic template creation process when it functions properly. However, the overwhelming sentiment suggests that technical unreliability combined with high costs and poor customer service creates a poor value proposition. Users indicate they intend to switch to competitors, and the platform is viewed by some as heading toward irrelevance in the digital invitation space.
The customer support here is awful, and navigating the website feels clunky and annoying. Their coins pricing model is way too expensive and feels greedy. I'm betting a competitor will come along in the next year or so and offer something better at a lower price. This platform is heading toward irrelevance pretty fast.
We agree with others that this company does a bait and switch to get at least $12 out of you for just 1 or 2 cards. But our main problem was something different. When you make changes to a card, you can't actually send different versions to different people like you'd think you could. We sent out 6 cards, and later found out that every time we edited and resent one, all 6 cards got updated instantly. So everyone received the most recent version, which meant they all got the wrong message. It was embarrassing. When we complained to them about it, they only refunded us 1 card when they'd basically messed up all 6 of them. We'll never use them again!
I should have looked at the reviews first! My invites were stuck and not getting sent. Some of them wouldn't even open properly. When I asked someone why they hadn't seen their invite, I found out there was confusion about guest counts. Then I discovered the RSVP deadline had somehow closed even though I set it for later. I paid way too much for this when I could have just texted everyone myself and saved the money. The app isn't intuitive either. You have to send the invite first, then go back to change the guest count. I was able to fix the RSVP date eventually, but only after searching around a lot for where that option was. No wonder they don't offer refunds!
I need to say this will be my last time using Paperless. I'm an event planner and have used this for custom invites. I've never seen prices go up over 200% for the exact same service I was getting before. The company is moving in the wrong direction for customers. I paid recently and now my RSVPs are limited even after already spending way more for the same features. Now they want 8 coins per RSVP and are restricting how many RSVPs work, which feels predatory toward customers who signed up but are now stuck with unfair charges. I'm done with them. The Pro Plus plan only includes 2 out of 15 features! That's not fair. Paperless has lost what made it special, and I won't come back. Really disappointing.
Awful. Creating an invite with the templates is simple enough, but then actually getting it to work is a nightmare. I ended up texting everyone individually because that's what customer service told me to do. They said the invites would go through Paperless Post but come from different phone numbers. Nobody got anything. The RSVP tracking doesn't even show all your guests. They keep asking me to buy coins even though I already spent $28 for 13 invites that had to be sent manually with a link! I can't believe how broken this site and app are. Stay away. I've used Evites before and it's so much simpler and actually does what it promises.
I tried a couple other sites that claimed to offer free invites, then settled on Paperlesspost, but not happily. I had to try a bunch of different things before finding an option that didn't charge me. I'd prepared my guest lists with both email addresses and phone numbers since the add guest feature seemed to allow that, but turns out you can only upload lists with emails. I really wish these companies would pay more attention to what people say in their reviews about these issues.
I really dislike this website. It pulls you in with a free design option, and after you put in good effort, suddenly you need to drop $50 or more to send what you made. The site uses manipulative design tricks to get you to spend money. You don't realize until you're well into designing that your creation will cost money to send or download, often way more than you expected to spend.
What a ridiculous site. I wish I'd looked at reviews first because I spent hours building an invite, only to get hit with an insane charge to send it via email. You'd save money just printing them out and mailing them, or honestly, just emailing it yourself without using this service at all. Total rip-off.
What a scam this is. You get to design your invite and do all the work setting it up, then they hit you with crazy high costs per invitation. I was making a funeral invitation for my dad and ended up having to switch platforms because Paperless Post wanted hundreds of dollars more than any other option.
This app is incredibly unreliable. I've been trying for almost a week to finish a basic design and get my email contacts uploaded. The interface changes every time I use it and constantly fails to save what I'm doing. It seems to have problems with Safari, even when I'm not using private browsing. Chrome isn't much better either. I don't feel comfortable spending money on coins to handle my event with this platform. Pretty frustrated.
I was really satisfied with the support I got. My cards were delivered quickly and on time. The customer service was excellent. The team member who helped me was great, and I'm thankful for it. Thank you very much.
The support team did a great job helping me out. The cards arrived right on time, and the customer service was excellent too. Valerie was particularly helpful, and I really appreciate it. Thanks!
My wife and I wasted hours trying to put together a simple wedding invitation. The website was difficult at every turn and wouldn't let us create or edit the way we wanted. After trying to get help through text and a phone call that dropped, we decided to go with a different service instead. Don't use this site!
I open up the app and my account just isn't there. Where's the home button? This app is so annoying to use.
I spent over an hour just trying to get a card sent out. The account verification didn't work, I got logged out and couldn't get back in with my info, and the forgot password feature never sent anything. I was stuck going in circles trying to access my account. The whole system is terrible and a total waste of time.
