Grizzly Industrial Reviews
Grizzly Industrial receives overwhelmingly negative feedback from shoppers, with serious concerns about product quality and customer service dominating reviews. Recurring complaints include receiving incorrect or defective items (wrong pulleys, misaligned brackets, overheating tools), warranty issues where the company refuses to honor coverage, and unresponsive customer support that requires escalation to the Better Business Bureau to obtain refunds. Shoppers report long-standing frustrations even after years of loyalty, with some describing the experience as the worst customer service they have encountered.
A small number of positive reviewers praise Grizzly for timely delivery, responsive customer service, and competitive pricing on sales, though these accounts represent a minority perspective that contrasts sharply with the predominant pattern of dissatisfaction. The company's refusal to honor warranties on items regardless of price point and the prevalence of quality control issues with imported products appear to be central frustrations for unhappy customers.
Ordered a replacement motor and it showed up with the wrong pulley belt. The belt is no longer made and they didn't even tell me before shipping it. When I was putting the new motor in I noticed the motor bracket slot didn't line up with the installation hole. Called Grizzly and they said the motors they're getting in have misaligned bracket slots and suggested I just grind a new slot myself. That's not acceptable service at all.
Got a tool from them and used it for less than 45 minutes total. From the moment I started using it, the thing got so hot you could actually burn your hand on it. Then they tried to charge me extra. When I called them out on it, they lied to try to cover it up. After I complained to the BBB, they finally refunded me. But this doesn't change the fact that they straight up tried to steal from me. They're compulsive liars trying to save face. They even sent me the same copy paste response three times. They love making up stories about how much the tool was used, but I'm telling you it had zero wear. It was brand new, less than three weeks old, and I used it for under 45 minutes total. They tried to say a tensioner wasn't working so they couldn't test it, but that part was already broken when they shipped it to me. That was the real problem, not wear. Bottom line: these guys will steal from you if they think they can get away with it and they'll lie through their teeth when caught. I'm glad the BBB helped me get my money back but wanted to make sure other customers know what this company is really like.
In 2025, Grizzly Industrial has been really disappointing to work with. The products I got were low quality tools made in China and the company wouldn't even honor their warranty on a twenty dollar item. I hate to think what would happen if something more serious went wrong. Check out how they're rated for customer service. They're also not accredited by the Better Business Bureau.
This is hands down the worst customer service I've ever dealt with. I've been buying from Grizzly since 2020 and spent over $8000 with them over that time. Then I got a $3200 table saw that turned into a nightmare. There's a faulty part that I can't get replaced, which means the saw doesn't work right. I've tried reaching out multiple times for an update and they just ignore me completely. Honestly it feels like they don't care about you once your money is in their pocket. I'm done spending money here. UPDATE: After more emails, a phone call, and a bad review on their website, finally someone reached out and sent an experienced tech who fixed the problem. But come on, why should it take all that just to get some attention?
Bought a bandsaw in early 2024 and then decided I wanted the mobile base to go with it. I emailed the company asking which one to get and they told me. Turns out it was the wrong size and needs two different shorter rails. They delivered the wrong base in August and told me they'd order the correct rails. Those showed up but are still stuck on back order. It's been almost three months now. Their customer service is terrible. They actually told me to just take a saw and cut down the ones I have. Are you serious? I'm supposed to hack up a brand new product? Just send me the right ones and move on already. I haven't even been able to use the thousand dollar bandsaw since I got the base. I'm never ordering from them again. Maybe I'll try a different brand next time. I'm pretty sure most of their customer service replies are just AI at this point. I saved all my emails and theirs to prove it. Avoid this place.
I have no clue what all these negative reviews are complaining about because some of them just sound like whining. I've had nothing but great results from Grizzly. Stuff always arrives on time, when I've had questions they answer them fast and friendly. I got a band saw for their 40th anniversary and noticed it was on sale for 1250 dollars. Then after I bought it they dropped the price again so I asked about it and they gave me the difference back. I even had an issue with a zero clearance nylon throat plate for my table saw and they refunded me no problem. I asked why I didn't get the 5 percent off from that popup ad and they just added it. These folks are great. In the last month I've spent about five grand on a table saw, band saw and other stuff. I won't shop anywhere else.
Purchased a drum sander model G0920 and it arrived when it was supposed to but came missing some parts. Got in touch with customer service and they mailed out the missing pieces but they got lost by the carrier. I had to file a claim and Grizzly told me I need to wait eight days for the investigation to finish. Haven't gotten any calls back from customer service. I called them myself and asked if they could just ship replacement parts right away and got no answer. I didn't do anything wrong here but Grizzly doesn't seem to care. I would definitely not buy from them again at this point.
Purchased a 1 inch tube bending die and didn't get around to using it for months after I bought it. When I finally did use it, it ruined every single piece of tubing I ran through it. I called Grizzly tech support to get it replaced since it was still under warranty and they said they'd send a new one. Instead they sent me a gift card for what I originally paid before tax and said the die was out of stock. Nobody told me ahead of time that I'd be getting a gift card instead of an actual replacement. I don't even want a gift card because I've figured out their dies are garbage and switched to another brand. They won't refund my money and I'm stuck with a useless gift card for less than what I spent originally. I tried to handle this the right way but at this point I'm just frustrated enough to say it publicly. I'm out almost 190 bucks that I'll never see again, plus a couple hundred more in aluminum tubing that got damaged by their faulty die.
Ordered drill bits and the charge didn't go through at first. So I placed the exact same order again and that time it actually charged me like normal. Well guess what they did? They charged me a third time and shipped me two identical orders. Now I'm stuck waiting on my refund while they give me some story about needing to inspect the package even though I never even opened the box. They got it this morning and when I told them to hurry up and send my money back because I need it for bills, they basically blew me off. The return packages clearly show unopened boxes with all the stuff still in them. I'm really frustrated and will never order from this company again.
Purchased a G0776 lathe and ran into numerous issues with how the company operates. Everyone talks about how great their customer service is but I can't say anything but bad things about it. You get a different person every single time you call or email and have to explain everything all over again. The company is totally disconnected. People sound confused and frustrated because their computer system is ridiculous and makes everything worse. I dealt with shipping problems, availability issues and other headaches. I even went to their Bellingham store and they kept saying to call them because they're here to help, which is complete nonsense. You literally cannot reach that store on the phone and talk to the same person. Try calling the Bellingham location yourself and see what happens. Also if you buy through a retailer you don't get a warranty. I tried this on a different item and they told me the warranty goes to whoever they sold it to, which in that case was the retailer. As for the lathe itself, it showed up in a good crate with excellent packing. I did the break in and changed the oil and there were metal filings in it, quite a bit actually. I ran it again and changed the oil again and more filings. When I opened it up there were tons of filings in the headstock that destroyed about five hundred dollars worth of bearings. Those bearings are on order so I haven't even been able to tell if the machine is any good yet.
Had a terrible experience with their customer service. Supervisors wouldn't return calls and were completely unresponsive. I wanted to buy a knife grinder with three sets of belts using a gift card I had. I found the same tool cheaper on their own store with lower taxes and free shipping, but I couldn't use the gift card there. The supervisor said they couldn't match their own price. Seemed like they were too busy to even try. When I talked to a customer service rep, she had a loud dog barking in the background and basically said there was nothing she could do and that it didn't seem fair to her either.
I'm really frustrated with what's been happening the last few weeks. Back in 2010 I picked up a ShopFox W1758 lathe and used it almost every single week for over 12 years without any problems. Then on November 4th of this year I got a recall notice from Amazon about this lathe saying there was an issue with the cutting tools. Turned out the actual problem was with the faceplate and tool rest, not the cutting tools which ShopFox didn't even make in the first place. But anyway I was told to stop using the lathe immediately and contact Grizzly for replacement parts. I did and they told me I'd have to wait until mid March 2024 at the earliest, and that I shouldn't use the lathe in the meantime. So that's four and a half months I can't use it and that's just an estimate. You know how it goes with stuff coming from overseas, things get delayed all the time especially from China. If this was just a hobby for me it wouldn't matter but I'm right in the middle of a huge custom furniture project and now it looks like I'll have to buy another lathe just to finish it safely.
I regret buying from Grizzly. Got an oscillating sander and it broke after just 3 days of use. They sent a replacement which was okay, but the half inch sanding sleeves won't fit the spindle. The one they included works fine but the extra sleeves I ordered from them are way too tight. I'm going to shop somewhere else next time. Been a loyal Grizzly customer for years but not anymore. It's disappointing because there aren't many companies left that actually care about making quality stuff and treating customers right.
I wanted to share my experience with Grizzly. I've gotten several tools from them and all I have to say is fantastic things about them and their support team. When I've had any issues come up they've taken care of them right away. Being retired and living on a fixed income, it's really great to see a company that actually values their customers and has real integrity. I'm going to be buying more from them going forward.
Bought a Grizzly 1800W scarifier and had major problems right away. The collection box frame snapped on the very first time I used it. Then on the fourth use, the motor fan completely fell apart. I'm only 15 months into a 3 year warranty period. Called Grizzly to ask about getting replacement parts and after tons of back and forth emails, they basically said they weren't going to help me. This product is cheap quality and the support after purchase is nonexistent. Would give zero stars if I could.
