EA continues to be a nightmare for anyone who actually cares about privacy and open systems. They've never supported Linux and frankly, I don't see that changing anytime soon. It's basically a data harvesting operation working hand-in-hand with Microsoft. Both companies are obsessed with collecting user information behind the scenes while pretending everything is fine. Classic corporate deception at its finest. Sure, the company can rebrand itself, but the corrupt core underneath never really changes.

Getting a response from a real person is practically impossible, and if you do manage to contact support, prepare to wait months for any kind of reply. I've been locked out of my account for a long time now and can't access any of the games I actually paid for.

I can't express how disappointed I am with this entire experience. I purchased Sims 4 years ago through Steam and recently tried downloading it on my Mac. The system recognizes my purchase, but the version is Windows only, so I can't install it or purchase a Mac version separately. When I reached out to customer support, I got shuffled between three different agents who were absolutely useless. The representatives clearly had language barriers and weren't equipped to handle my issue. The company must be cutting corners on support. Support itself is just broken, and there's no way to escalate or follow up if the first response doesn't actually solve your problem. I'm really frustrated with both this platform and EA.

I stick exclusively to the Sims franchise and avoid everything else EA makes, partly because of all the violent content and partly because their customer support is nonexistent. The Sims games have been cash cows for this company for years, yet they keep releasing new versions instead of improving what's already out there. In the beginning, you could just install and play. Now they've figured out how to continuously extract money from players while locking them into the ecosystem. Every update crashes the game and customer support is now email only, sometimes taking three days to get a response. How much longer are they planning to milk their players like this?

This platform is full of glitches and really unreliable. Games won't start up randomly, logging in is hit or miss, purchasing games fails for no reason, and getting support requires jumping through hoops. Complete waste of time and resources. Steam has never given me any of these headaches.

This is terrible. I bought a game on Steam but now I'm forced to register an account with Origin to play it. That shouldn't be how this works. If something happens with my Origin account or I lose my password, I'm stuck and can't access what I already own through Steam. One star because this system is backwards.

This app is garbage. A company with this much market presence shouldn't have such a terrible application. You can't even sort games by price from lowest to highest, which would make finding bargains super easy.

Absolutely terrible experience with this company. They're not following basic consumer protection laws and everyone should know about it. I tried logging back into an account I hadn't used in years and got told my account was removed. I never requested any deletion, my email wasn't hacked, nothing. I had multiple back and forth chats with their support team trying to figure out what happened. When I asked if they actually verified ownership before processing the deletion request, the employee got defensive about my email security. So I escalated and asked for a supervisor. That's when things got really bad. They shut down my conversation, blocked me from using the chat feature again, and told me my account could never be restored. The whole situation feels like a scam. They basically took my account and all my games without proper verification, won't give me my money back, and won't restore anything. I only had a few games here so my loss wasn't huge, but imagine if this happened to someone with a massive library.

This launcher is really awful. Picture this: you grab an EA game on Steam thinking you're good to go, then boom, the Origin launcher forces itself open. It's disgusting.
