When I called customer service, they mentioned they were getting new equipment and the issue would be fixed in a few weeks. Then I came across another review saying the exact same thing happened to them, except that review was from 4 years ago. Really? Save your cash.
The checkout process is frustrating and Shopify makes everything worse. After using them for about 4 months, I decided to switch brands. Managing subscriptions requires way too many steps, and when you share an account with someone else it becomes a real headache. It's sad when technology gets in the way of a great product. The last straw was receiving a bag of dog food with a tear that was literally just taped shut and sold at full price. They did refund it eventually, but getting the money back took more than a week.
We tried them for the first time and a third of the whole grain chicken and oats kibble was basically powder, which isn't safe for any dog to eat. Small choking hazards everywhere. We reached out to customer service with all the info they requested but never got a response. Then we asked for our money back and got nothing but silence. Clearly they don't care about their customers. We switched food right away and won't be buying from them again.
Their system glitched and charged my card for 2 orders I never placed. I emailed right away when I saw the order confirmations. They said they'd try to cancel them, but then the shipments went out anyway. Now they're asking FedEx to return the packages without sending them to me first, and they're refusing to refund until the boxes are back in their warehouse. It's unfair that I'm sitting here down a couple hundred bucks because of their error. Real customer service would give me my money back right away and sort out their own problem later. I'm done ordering from them.

I've been buying Honest Kitchen Dog food for over 15 years for my dogs. I got their Grain Free Fish and Grain Free Turkey dehydrated formulas recently and both had really hard chunks of potato, fruit, and vegetables. It seems like they switched up how they make it, though they insist nothing changed. They were nice enough to send replacement boxes, which I appreciated, but those had the same hard pieces. If the recipe didn't change, why are some pieces suddenly rock hard? I've tried grinding them and adding warm water before feeding, but they're still impossible. I'm seeing the food in my dog's waste now, which tells me he's not absorbing it anymore. I'm really let down and confused about what's going on.

This is our second review for Honest Kitchen, and we gave them 5 stars the first time, so I'm not sure how the overall rating ends up at 3.7. Anyway, we've gone through quite a bit of their food for different dogs over the years and almost all of them loved it. Our two current pups get excited when it's dinner time. We do kibble with their dehydrated chicken on top to get the best of both worlds. It takes a little practice to prepare, but I batch cook it and keep some in the fridge for a couple days. Works great for us.
