What Shoppers Say About Tanbooks
Tanbooks is rated 1.0 out of 5 by 4 shoppers, with all recent reviews citing serious fulfillment and customer service issues. Customers report orders that never arrived despite being charged, extended delays of two to three months, and an inability to reach the company through phone or email. Refund requests and return processes were reportedly ignored, with no acknowledgment or resolution from the business.
The recurring complaint centers on unresponsive customer service and failure to deliver or resolve order problems. Multiple reviewers attempted multiple contact methods without success, and one noted particular concern about these practices contradicting the company's stated Christian values. Past positive experiences were mentioned by at least one shopper, but current operations appear to be causing significant customer dissatisfaction.

Sorted by: Most recentI never received the DVD set that was supposed to be included with my order. I called them several times and got no answer, plus I emailed their contact address with the same result. I even sent everything back through their return process on the website, but they never acknowledged it. I've had good experiences with them in the past when orders arrived promptly, but that's changed now. I won't be ordering from Tan Books again and will avoid any sites that promote them.
This is hands down the worst customer service experience I've had. They refuse to fix any issues. I paid for my order and it never showed up, and they completely ignored all my attempts to contact them. It's concerning that a Christian-based business would operate this way. They're not representing their values well at all.
Nearly three months have passed and my book still hasn't arrived. I've tried reaching out multiple times but keep getting ignored. My credit card was already charged for this order. It's really disappointing that they won't respond or help resolve the issue.
Waited over two months for my book after placing an order with Tanbooks through Benedict Press, which appear to operate as one entity. My credit card was charged $27.90 under the St. Benedict Press name. When I finally reached out after 30 days, I got some responses to my emails and some silence. Still no book arrived. I noticed their website only allows ratings of 4 or 5 stars while the lower ratings are grayed out and unavailable, which seems to artificially inflate their scores. Fortunately, the book did show up on June 23rd, but the whole experience was frustrating.
