Rocky Mountain Oils Reviews
What Shoppers Say About Rocky Mountain Oils
Rocky Mountain Oils receives sharply divided feedback from shoppers. Satisfied customers praise the quality and purity of the essential oils themselves, with some loyal buyers highlighting responsible sourcing and expertise in distillation. However, the company faces serious operational challenges that overshadow product quality for many reviewers. Recurring complaints center on customer service failures, including unresponsive staff who fail to follow up on promised callbacks, long wait times for issue resolution, and staff who lack product knowledge. Additional concerns include pricing inconsistencies (particularly for smaller bottles), products arriving partially full or with less product than expected, and quality issues affecting specific uses like cold process soapmaking.
The stark contrast between product satisfaction and service dissatisfaction suggests Rocky Mountain Oils struggles with fulfillment and support infrastructure despite sourcing quality materials. Customers who have experienced shipping errors or product issues report frustration with how complaints are handled, with some noting responses that fail to address the actual concern raised. While the oils themselves earn loyalty from repeat customers, operational issues and inconsistent customer service appear to be driving away shoppers who might otherwise remain regular buyers.

Sorted by: Most recentOverall the oils have been good. My issue was with a tiny one ounce bottle of rose oil that cost forty-two dollars. When it arrived, it was only halfway full and barely gave me four drops. I snapped a photo and sent it along with questions about why it wasn't full and why I got so little product. Their first response didn't actually address what I asked about. I followed up and finally got an answer that made sense. Still, I'm probably not going to order that particular oil again.
I've been ordering from Rocky Mountain for years and I really like a few of their products. The problem is their customer service is terrible. Three different times I've had to call because they sent me the wrong item instead of what I ordered. Each time, three separate people told me they'd get back to me the next day. None of them actually did. That's not acceptable. If I don't hear from them by tomorrow, I'm going to dispute the charges. It's disappointing because they do carry some solid products.
I bought a four ounce bottle of patchouli essential oil from their online store in early 2022 to make cold process soap. Unfortunately, every single time I tried using it for soapmaking, my soap batter would seize up immediately. If soap making is what you're planning to do with their essential oils, you'd be better off looking elsewhere.
I have this to say: I have spent hundreds of dollars on your essential oils and they are wonderful. When I have called customer service a couple of times, the staff was pleasant enough, but honestly they don't know much about essential oils at all. Why aren't you hiring customer service reps from the US instead of operating a phone service out of another country? I am seriously thinking about switching to a different brand because of this choice.
Rocky Mountain Oils is fantastic and I'm a devoted customer because they really care about quality and purity. Every bottle I get is premium grade essential oil that's sourced responsibly and distilled with expertise. They genuinely focus on teaching people and supporting their community, which helps me and my family use these oils safely and get real benefits from them. Whether I need something uplifting to boost my mood or a calming blend to help me relax, Rocky Mountain Oils has turned into a core part of how we take care of ourselves naturally.
These are top-notch products at great prices. With so many essential oil companies out there all saying they're the best, I'm really glad I found them. Their oils are genuinely pure and high quality, no question about it. I've done my homework and tested oils from other companies for different things like pain relief, breathing support, and stress. Rocky Mountain genuinely is the best out there.
Heard tons of people recommending this site for quality essential oils, so I decided to try them out. Since I'm outside the country, I paid fifty dollars extra for rush shipping. My package never showed up. When I checked the tracking, it said the order got canceled. Nobody ever emailed me to explain what happened or whether my money was coming back. I sent multiple emails over the next week asking about it and got zero responses. This is completely unacceptable. I'm shocked anyone deals with this company at all. If you're ordering from outside the US, definitely avoid this place.
Wanted to branch out so I tried Rocky Mountain instead of my usual brand. Ordered twice and it's been a nightmare from start to finish. One of their oils broke me out when I used it on my face and body, so I decided to send both orders back. They advertise a hassle-free return policy which is total nonsense. I've called customer service multiple times and still don't have my refund. Today I got an email saying I got a partial refund but they're charging me for a carrot seed oil that never even came open in my box. The return label is on it and it was shipped back. This company is ridiculous. I have to call again tomorrow for the fourth time to fight for my full refund, and I'm still waiting on my other refund from three weeks ago.
Never got my order even though the tracking info said it was ready for pickup. I had to send around five emails just to get a straight answer. Turns out it got stuck in customs and now they're saying they won't refund me until the package gets back to them. One hundred sixty bucks basically disappeared.
I used to buy oils from Rocky Mountain regularly and they worked great. But then the customer service completely fell apart. Got a promotional email with a discount code, placed my order, and the code wouldn't go through. Called them up, explained the situation, and the rep told me they never send out discounts for that amount. When I sent her the email proof, she said it looked legit but she couldn't apply it without escalating to the office. That seemed ridiculous to me, so I pushed back on their process and they hung up on me. Called again and got a manager who got defensive about my question and flat out refused to give me the discount. Then out of nowhere an email comes saying I'm getting the discount plus an extra ten bucks. The whole thing was super frustrating and weird. Not shopping there anymore.
