What Shoppers Say About Whateverworks
Whateverworks has a severely troubled reputation according to shoppers, with 1.8 out of 5 by 16 reviewers. The overwhelming majority of complaints center on product quality issues (items arriving defective or not as described), shipping delays or missing packages, and serious customer service failures including difficulty reaching support by phone and unresponsiveness to return requests. Shoppers also report deceptive billing practices, such as hidden charges for rewards programs and unclear subscription terms. A small minority of reviews praise the company or note resolved issues, but these represent exceptions in an otherwise deeply negative pattern.
The most damaging complaints involve products failing immediately after purchase, shipping taking nearly a month without delivery confirmation, and billing disputes that take months to identify and resolve. Customers express frustration about being unable to reach customer service to address problems, forcing them to absorb return shipping costs that exceed the item price or resort to certified letters to executive leadership. While a few shoppers report eventually receiving refunds or credits, the process appears to be frustrating and requires significant persistence.

Sorted by: Most recentPurchased a portable tablet pillow as a gift and paid $11.40 in shipping for a $12.99 item that wasn't anything like what was described. Tried calling multiple times to ask for a return label but couldn't reach anyone. I'm not about to pay more shipping costs than the item itself, especially for something that sucks. Finally got through on their ordering line but they hung up when they transferred me to customer service. Terrible experience. Stay away.
Ordered something almost a month ago and still haven't received it. They say they shipped it twice through FedEx but I have nothing to show for it. If it ever actually gets shipped, I'm hoping FedEx can get it to me since this company clearly can't. Stay far away from them.
Bought solar-powered backlit house numbers and was really excited when I found them. Seemed like the perfect choice. Mounted them on my porch post using the double-sided tape that came with it. They lit up right away out of the box that first night. Second night came around and they just stopped working. So disappointed because this would have been exactly what I needed.
This company engages in sneaky, deceptive tactics. As a senior citizen, I was asked if I wanted rewards points on my purchase for later use. What they didn't make clear was that they were going to charge me $21.22 for those points. I didn't catch it for 4 months until I noticed the charges. Good luck getting customer service on the phone or getting your money back. Steer clear and shop on Amazon instead.
Want to clear up something from my previous review. It turned out they did apply the credit for my duplicate shipment and the return I sent back. I was looking at the wrong line on my statement - the credit sign was so faint I missed it at first. The $61.36 refund did go through.
Trust what other people are saying about this place. I sent a certified letter to the CEO about subscription issues that their support team wouldn't acknowledge, which got my membership canceled. When your payment card changes, their system won't update it automatically - they make you sign up for the VIP program all over again. I even sent documentation from my bank showing the card updates, but still haven't gotten a response months later. Super unprofessional. The office address they list online is just a home address. Stay away from the VIP membership. Products are okay but overpriced.
We bought something once and didn't think much of it. Just recently we noticed they've been hitting our account with $14.95 charges every month for their VIP club. What kind of scam is this? Who charges customers a monthly fee just for shopping with them?
Got 3 items from them that arrived late and were terrible quality. Now I have to pay to ship them back and I'm not even sure if they'll actually refund my money. These people are scammers. Don't buy from them. None of this stuff works.
Working with this company has been awful. Sent back a return item that's been sitting at the post office for 3 weeks undelivered. The problem is they never gave me a proper street address for returns, just a box number. When I called to get the right address, customer service was unhelpful. Waited 25 minutes for a supervisor only to get transferred to another rep. I've filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
