After sending back a DreamBox due to personal circumstances, I covered the return shipping costs. The item arrived back to them completely unopened and in excellent shape, using the same pallet it came in on. Then nothing happened for over a month without any word from them. When I finally contacted them myself, they dropped a surprise on me: I could only get my $3K+ refund if I sent back the promotional items they included, which I had to ask about since I wanted to be upfront. Suddenly there was a $40 shipping charge for returning those cheap freebies, even though returning the DreamBox itself wasn't supposed to have any extra fees attached. Not only did they drag their feet on processing my return, which cost me money in interest charges, but they essentially held thousands of dollars hostage over forty bucks. CreateRoom needs to seriously step up their game.
