Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria Reviews
What Shoppers Say About Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria
Lou Malnati's Pizzeria is receiving poor ratings from recent shoppers, with complaints centered on quality decline and service failures. Reviewers report that the deep dish pizza has deteriorated in taste, with bland crusts and diminished quality of ingredients like tomatoes and cheese. Delivery issues are also prominent, including late arrivals, cold pizzas left outside without notification, and soggy products delivered in waterlogged boxes. Customer service follow-up has been inconsistent, with at least one shopper reporting contradictory responses when attempting to resolve issues.
Long-time customers express particular disappointment, noting that the restaurant's standards have shifted noticeably for the worse. Beyond pizza quality, operational problems like missed delivery windows, lack of driver communication, and unresponsive issue resolution when customers attempt follow-up have eroded trust among repeat patrons who previously valued the establishment.

Sorted by: Most recentUsed to love Lou Malnati's, but something's changed for the worse lately. Their deep dish has lost its appeal. The crust tastes bland, and the quality of both the tomatoes and cheese isn't what it used to be. Grabbed a spinach pizza from their downtown location on a Friday night and was let down when I got home and took a bite. The calamari I ordered alongside it was swimming in grease. Really disappointed overall.
I've been a loyal customer for years, but today was rough. Ordered a pizza at 3:30 PM for a 5:30 PM delivery window. It didn't arrive until almost 6:45, and they just left it outside my front door with no knock or notification. Since it was 47 degrees outside, the pizza was completely cold by the time I found it. The menu price showed $22.85, so I added a 10 percent delivery tip, but my Visa got charged $31.99. I called around 6 to ask where my order was and got some excuse that it was on its way. Called again at 7 and they said it had been delivered, which technically true but useless since it sat in the cold. Lou Malnati's used to be great about a decade ago when they first opened in my area, back when I started going there. Now that they've expanded and become a big operation, customer service has completely fallen off. Pizza prices have doubled since then while their care for customers has gone to zero. There are plenty of other pizza places nearby, and while their pizza is decent, it's absolutely not worth dealing with terrible customer service, unhelpful managers, and cold food arriving hours late. Really disappointed.
My pizza showed up completely soaked in a waterlogged box. The pizza itself was tasteless and soggy. I reached out on social media to complain and the store manager contacted me saying he'd remake it and put a note on file. When I called back a couple weeks later to follow up, they claimed I never placed an order in the first place. That seventy dollars was a tough lesson learned.
