I bought my husband a gift card to Summit Racing for Christmas thinking it would be perfect. When he tried to use it on a new account, it got attached to an old account from years back with a dead email. After over 10 phone calls and being told repeatedly that it was fixed, it wasn't. Then we called three times to get a new card number, and when he tried it online, it said invalid. Another call to support and they explained they only update those once a week. Instead of a happy guy tinkering on his car, I've got a frustrated guy sitting on the sidelines. Not acceptable. I won't make the mistake of ordering a gift card from them again.

Prices are okay, but getting in touch with reps is tough and they're not pleasant when you do connect. Returns are a hassle. You'll keep getting confirmation emails from the carrier after it's picked up, and they'll drag out the process. I got another duplicate confirmation a week after the first one. Tried asking them about it and apparently I was wrong for questioning it. A $500 return shouldn't take longer than 10 days total.

I messed up not verifying the fitment myself, but Summit Racing's support team is honestly terrible. Their website showed this part would work for my car, and it completely didn't. I emailed right away asking if we could get a replacement. Two days go by and absolutely nothing. When they finally replied, it was just a generic link with 'should have bought that instead.' That's not customer service, that's ignoring me. No explanation, no help, nothing that shows they care if I come back. When your website gives bad information about what fits, you should either fix it or at least help your customers figure it out. Instead, Summit just proved that once you pay them, you're out there alone. I've bought from them plenty over the years, but I'm done now. The communication was horrible, there's no accountability, and they don't actually provide customer support.

They shipped me tires that were already over five and a half years old. Don't buy tires from Summit. My tires showed up on 9/21/2025 with a date code from April 2020. Called to complain and got the runaround. They acted like they were doing me a favor just by listening to what I had to say.

I ordered from Summit all the time before they switched their shipping partner to Ontrac. Since that change, getting my orders has become a nightmare. Bought headers for a 1967 fastback with a 351c 4v. The paperwork said 67-70 Mustang with 351c, and the box label also said 67-70 with 351c 4v, but the headers don't fit. Summit keeps saying I must have ordered wrong ones. Even after I sent them my paperwork, they blame me. Feels like talking to a wall when you try to find someone reasonable there. Will not order again. Update: Summit finally called back, admitted the headers won't fit, and issued a full refund. Really happy with how they handled it in the end.

They charge you, then your stuff just doesn't arrive. They keep making you wait another month. Don't trust them with your money.

I ordered an item that showed as in stock on their site. I called to make sure they got it, and they said it would ship from the maker since they were out. I checked with the manufacturer directly and found out they only had two left. Called Summit back worried about that, and they said they'd process it that day. Days go by without any tracking. I called and chatted with support and they couldn't tell me anything. I called the manufacturer again and found out Summit never even placed the order. When I asked about it, Summit said they had placed it and were waiting on tracking, and they made up stuff about the manufacturer needing Summit's purchase order to confirm. Three days later I get a cancellation email. Huge waste of my time. I just ordered straight from the manufacturer and got tracking immediately. Their support is a complete joke.

Made a mistake ordering the wrong shock size for my truck. When I went to send them back, I saw they refunded me only half of what I paid. I spent $365 with shipping, handling, and tax, but only got $260 back. A woman there told me 'It matters why you're returning it. If you just don't want it, that's on you. If it was broken we'd refund everything, but we can't in this case.' I never saw anything in the terms that said that, and now I'm really upset with Summit. Their hidden policies are ridiculous and I'm shopping elsewhere.
