The Roku channel is terrible. I constantly run into problems trying to skip ahead through content, and the ads block the feature. Even worse, when it does skip, it resets the episode to the beginning instead of picking up where I stopped. This happens no matter what I try. The sheer volume and length of advertisements is maddening. Netflix has way fewer ads and costs about the same. I'm leaving this app permanently. Until Roku fixes the advertising and fast-forward problems, I'm staying far away.

Skip the Roku TV and get a Firestick instead. I recently purchased a Roku for my bedroom and was shocked to discover you can't plug headphones directly into it. Instead, you have to download an app on your phone or tablet, connect your headphones there, and have it wirelessly connect to the TV. Except it barely ever actually works. My old bedroom TV had a Firestick and I could just connect headphones straight to the TV without any issues. Same thing with my new Firestick TV in the living room. Why does Roku have to complicate everything? I'm buying another Firestick for the bedroom and tossing this thing in the trash.

Customer service doesn't exist. It's unfair paying for a Roku television that doesn't even work right. My internet connection is perfectly fine, but one of my TVs won't access it through the Roku system. This company is awful, and I won't be purchasing from them again.

Seriously, don't waste your money on this. Fire TV is a much better option. Actually, you'd be better off with practically anything else.

Repetitive ad problem. There are way too many advertisements and they're the same ones over and over. Only about 20 total ads exist on Roku. That's literally all you're going to watch. It became so irritating that I quit using it and switched to Prime Video instead.

Completely disappointed. The live streaming setup needs to be redone practically daily, I keep getting location notifications that don't apply to me, and there's always weird audio interruptions when I'm watching grown-up shows. It's just not acceptable, and I regret my purchase.

I'm so done with this device. Between having to reconfigure the live streaming feature constantly, getting weather alerts for a state I don't even live in, and dealing with random background noise while trying to watch mature content, I've had enough. That's really all that needs to be said.

Not as good as it used to be. I've had Roku since the start, and they used to have a huge selection of free apps covering every genre. You could find westerns, horror, educational shows, pretty much anything. Now there's basically nothing available unless you subscribe. It's just like traditional cable now, showing the same content repeatedly. Roku keeps cycling through identical episodes for months on end. I don't think it's worth my time anymore.

Really aggravating situation here. Every two or three months my device drops support for specific streaming services, particularly BBC player and Channel 4. Getting them back online requires a complete system reset that eats up about an hour of my time. Honestly, it's become a real headache.

This has been incredibly frustrating. About every couple months, certain streaming apps like the BBC player and Channel 4 just quit working out of nowhere. The only solution I've found is doing a full factory reset, which takes roughly an hour to complete. It's truly aggravating having to deal with this repeatedly.

The Roku camera system is a disappointment. The video quality from the doorbell is poor quality. You won't be able to identify people until they're right on top of your door. Notifications come after someone is already there. If someone walks by, you get the alert after they've gone. It can't tell the difference between animals and people. Even with a paid subscription for the complete feature set, you still won't record every single event like you're supposed to. You might catch unwanted activity on your property or you might not. And when you complain, their response is that the cameras are fine and you don't know how to use them. They'll say the recorded events button shows everything if you know how to find it. The cameras just aren't worth the money. I can clearly see my daughter taking out the garbage, but I completely missed seeing a neighbor dump their yard waste by my bin in the middle of the night. These cameras offer zero actual security value.

I got charged for HBO without my permission. I installed their keyboard app thinking it would help me input a complicated password into my TV. Then suddenly I see a charge of $18.49 for HBO on my account. When I contacted them, they credited me back and claimed no one else could have done it. But that's clearly not true. This feels intentional.

I wish I could give this zero stars. The customer support is nonexistent. I've done multiple chats where they repeat the same troubleshooting steps and transfer me to someone who suggests identical solutions before disconnecting. I even spent over an hour on a phone call, sent in screenshots, and was told I'd hear back within 48 hours. Nothing. Don't buy a Roku TV. I can't recommend them to anybody.
