One Medical is rated 1.5 out of 5 by 23 shoppers, with the vast majority expressing serious dissatisfaction. Reviewers consistently report problems with prescription refills that require starting entirely new paid visits, inadequate call center support following a company takeover, poor office management, and video appointments that provide no meaningful care or treatment plans despite charging $289 per visit. Patients describe the service as having deteriorated significantly and cite frustration with the platform's inability to handle basic medical tasks that traditional doctors routinely manage.

The few positive reviews represent a small minority of respondents. Common complaints focus on the company's apparent indifference to customer feedback, restricted medication options tied to initial visit diagnoses, difficulty reaching providers by phone, and the overall sense that the service no longer delivers on its promised convenience. Multiple reviewers mention ending their memberships due to the poor experience, suggesting they found better alternatives elsewhere.

There's a reason their rating is so low across review sites with such large numbers of complaints: they're not bothering to gather customer feedback so they can understand what's going wrong. This service could be really good if they could just figure out how to actually deliver on the concept. When I switched from my regular doctor, I was pumped about having access to medical staff whenever I needed and was excited to try the modern online setup. Since joining, it's been one problem after another. After my first in-person appointment, I told the provider about all my current medications. He somehow still prescribed the wrong medicine or wrong dosage for three of them. Thank goodness I caught it because that could have been really dangerous. The online system is also very frustrating. One big reason nothing's getting better is that in the six months I've been a member, I've never once gotten a survey asking about my visit experience, prescription refills, or anything else. The company is owned by Amazon, which is obsessed with customer feedback so they can make improvements. It's strange they're not doing the same for One Medical.

Issues keep happening since the takeover. There's a call center answering phones and they don't seem educated or understand what you're explaining. The office management is poor. My last two prescription orders went to the pharmacy wrong and the pharmacy tech had to call me telling me to contact the doctor. But you can't call them. I stayed on hold forever talking to someone who didn't know anything and then got transferred to a physician assistant who kept suggesting maybe they need to see you in person. I already have appointments every three months. Doctors are limited to thirty minute appointments now which really isn't enough. I'm also nervously waiting on test results related to something serious and nobody's called. The PA said we can talk about it at your next appointment. If it's something major, I don't want to sit around waiting. I like my actual doctor but the rest of the staff and management is incompetent. I can't recommend this. When it was under previous ownership it was much better.

The medication options are very limited and based only on whatever condition you select at the start of your visit. When I came in for eczema, they told me I'd need to start a whole new visit, meaning another payment, just to get my acne medication refilled even though I don't have acne. That prescription has been my regular medication for years. Every time you contact your provider through messaging, it's someone different with no context about your previous conversations. They only address part of what you write and responses take forever to come back.

Ended my membership. What used to be convenient has turned into the worst online doctor platform ever. Why pay for something that refuses to do a basic refill? It requires you to fill out tons of forms just to be told they can't handle a straightforward refill that any normal doctor would do. It's frustrating and pointless. I'm done paying for this. It was helpful maybe two years back but has completely fallen apart.

I had a really negative experience with One Medical. I paid $289 for a brief video visit where the provider actually said they couldn't help over video, didn't give me a prescription, didn't give me a plan for treatment, and didn't give me anything useful except telling me to continue what I was doing and book an in-person appointment. I tried to follow up several times but just got unclear responses and they said they'd have someone call back but never did. Trying to handle the billing issue was just as annoying as the appointment. It's wrong to charge a full appointment fee when the visit provides no actual medical value or care. I've lost faith in this platform and definitely won't be recommending it.

Rachel S.Feb 6, 2026

My experience with One Medical was really disappointing. I spent $289 for a short video appointment where the provider said they couldn't actually help with it online, didn't write me any prescriptions, didn't create a new treatment plan, and basically just told me to keep doing what I was already doing and book an in-person visit. When I followed up multiple times, I just got vague answers and they promised callbacks that never came. Nobody actually tried to solve the problem. Even dealing with the billing complaint felt just as frustrating as the visit. Charging full price for a visit that provides zero medical help or actual value isn't patient-focused care. I've lost trust in this service and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Really frustrating billing situation. I joined in the fall specifically to access their travel medicine services, which at that time clearly stated it was included in the membership cost. I had a quick video chat with a provider and got a basic prescription for malaria pills and altitude medication. I had already done all the planning and research for my trip. Then I got a bill for $340 out of nowhere. Turns out my visit was labeled as moderate to high complexity and my insurance won't cover the extra charges. This feels like deceptive marketing and unfair billing.

Disappointing pricing practices. I signed up in early fall specifically for their travel medicine service, which was advertised as part of my membership at no extra cost. I had a quick video consultation with a provider and got a simple prescription for malaria prevention and altitude sickness medication. I'd already done all the research and planning for my trip beforehand. Then came a surprise bill for $340. Apparently my visit was categorized as moderately to highly complex and my insurance won't cover it. This feels like misleading pricing to me.

Really appreciate how the doctors actually take their time and listen to you. Getting lab work done is also super convenient since everything's in one place, and the follow-up with the doctor happens quickly afterward.

Robert D.Dec 3, 2025

You basically never see an actual doctor, just nurse practitioners most of the time. When I was hospitalized for lung infection, my heart imaging took seven days to come back. The doctor took one look and tossed it as unsuitable. Their standard answer for everything is rest, hydration, and go to the ER if things get worse. Everything about the service is low budget and low quality, which is honestly concerning. Let the buyer be cautious.

Michael B.Dec 3, 2025

You almost never actually get to see a doctor here, it's mostly nurse practitioners. When I was in the hospital with pneumonia, my echocardiogram took a full week to get back. The doctor looked at it and threw it away as incomplete. It's always the same generic response: rest at home, drink water, and go to the ER if things get worse. The service is cheap and so is the quality, which is honestly pretty risky. Buyer beware.

I tried using One Medical for an eye infection and had a terrible experience. They didn't give me any medication and wouldn't give me a note for my employer either. I wound up going to a walk-in clinic instead and paying $200 for an actual appointment. This service is a complete waste if you're looking for real help. Totally pointless.

Monica J.Nov 24, 2025

I got an eye infection and tried using One Medical for help. Not only did they refuse to give me any medication, they wouldn't even write me a note so I could take off work. I ended up having to go to an urgent care clinic and drop $200 on a real visit. If you feel like throwing away money, this is the place to do it. This service is completely useless.

Angela D.Nov 5, 2025

Tried their free trial period and had a bad experience. I had a phone call and was told the urgent care call would be free but haven't verified if they charged me anyway. The meeting was supposed to be video but within a few minutes it asks whether you want them to call you back instead of waiting. I agreed and got a call from the doctor who explained he couldn't do a full evaluation without seeing me in person when I told him I have no insurance. This morning I tried again with a different provider, but it seems like they're making me wait on hold until I agree to use their phone option. I've been on hold for over 26 minutes already. I'm shutting down my account now to prevent any charges. Complete waste of time.

Nicole R.Nov 5, 2025

Not a good use of your time. I tried their services during a free trial period. I did a phone call and was told it would be free but I'm not sure if they've billed me anyway. The appointment was supposed to be a video call but after just a couple minutes it asks if you want to get a callback instead of waiting. I said yes and got a call from the doctor who said he couldn't diagnose anything without an in-person visit even though I explained I don't have insurance coverage. I attempted again this morning with someone different but they seem to be keeping me on hold until I agree to their phone call option. I've now been waiting over 26 minutes. I'm canceling my account before they charge me. Total waste of time and money.
