NOT all tickets are refundable. Check the refund policy for your ticket type when making your reservation.
If you purchased your ticket directly from American Airlines, arranging a refund is easy:
- Scroll to the bottom of the homepage and look under the “Help” column.
- Click on “Receipts and Refunds”.
- At the bottom of the “Refund Requests” paragraph, click the blue “Refund” link.
- Scroll down to “Request a Refund” and enter your name and ticket number.
- Follow the link to “Reservations” and cancel your reservation.
Paper tickets must be mailed to the American Airlines office in Phoenix, Arizona. The address is listed on the refund page.
