Coursera Savings Hacks

Stack codes with free shipping

RetailCoupons.com regularly features free shipping offers alongside discount codes. Apply both to maximize your savings on course enrollment.

Compare discount percentages before purchase

Multiple promotional codes may be available for the same course. Check all active offers on RetailCoupons.com to ensure you apply the code with the largest discount.

Use codes on subscription or degree programs

Discount codes often provide stronger savings on longer subscriptions or full degree programs than single courses. Compare the effective discount across different enrollment lengths.

Check code eligibility timing

Some codes may require specific enrollment windows or launch dates for new courses. Verify timing restrictions before committing to a course purchase.

Coursera Shipping Policy

Coursera operates as a digital platform, so most course enrollments do not involve physical shipping. Free shipping offers on RetailCoupons.com refer to digital delivery and course access. Check Coursera's website for any digital materials or merchandise that may have separate shipping terms.

Coursera Returns & Refund Policy

Online courses and digital subscriptions typically follow different return policies than physical goods. Coursera usually allows refunds within a specific window from enrollment for full course access. Review Coursera's refund and cancellation policy on their site before purchasing to understand your options.

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Coursera is rated 2.9 out of 5 by 24 shoppers, with reviews split sharply between one-star and five-star ratings. The most consistent complaint involves billing practices: multiple reviewers report being charged after canceling free trials or memberships, sometimes repeatedly over extended periods. Shoppers express frustration with the lack of human customer support (no phone, email, or live chat options), stating that contact forms go unanswered and support staff either fails to respond or simply repeats refund policies without resolution.

While some shoppers appear satisfied with Coursera's course offerings and platform, the overwhelmingly negative reviews focus on billing transparency and customer service accessibility. Reviewers report receiving no payment warnings before charges are applied, difficulty obtaining refunds even when canceling immediately after being billed, and an inability to reach human representatives to dispute charges. Several shoppers mention filing complaints with consumer protection agencies, suggesting widespread frustration with dispute resolution.

Coursera relies on automated systems, not real people, for customer support. They don't offer phone, email, or live chat. So here's my story. They kept charging me for seventeen months even though I had terminated my membership. I submitted a contact form five separate times, but Coursera shut down every single one without responding. I also found out that Coursera isn't accredited by the Better Business Bureau. There's no actual customer support team unless you count an AI called 'Cora.' This bot doesn't really help except to send an automated question asking which subscription type it was after you fill out the form, then it sends a quick survey about how your experience went, and then it closes your case without actually addressing your concern. That's literally all this AI does. Coursera executives should tell 'Cora' to do better and set clear standards. Social media was the only way I could get their attention. When I shared my experience on one of their LinkedIn posts, they finally responded.

I'm really let down by how they handle customer support. I was curious about their course offerings, so I created an account for a trial period. After deciding it wasn't right for me, I went ahead and cancelled. However, they still billed me separately for a course I had started. When I reached out to their support team about this charge, they simply refused to help and ended the conversation without any further discussion.

Victoria N.Apr 3, 2026

I had a really unpleasant experience with Coursera that I think people should know about. I registered for a course with their seven-day free trial and cancelled it that very same day after concluding it wasn't what I wanted. Then a week later, they charged me anyway. When I contacted their help team, things got worse. They claimed they couldn't even find my account, even though they clearly had it when they charged my card, and they shut down my complaint without any real investigation or solution. This is troubling behavior. Charging after cancellation is bad, but not acknowledging an account they just took money from and brushing off the issue feels dishonest and unprofessional. It seems like a system designed to take payment and avoid responsibility afterward. Before you enter your payment info at Coursera, think long and hard about it. Their billing and support processes are unreliable at minimum, and possibly intentionally deceptive.

Jennifer L.Mar 22, 2026

Stay away from this. I felt so frustrated that I created an account just to leave this review. Sign up for their seven-day free trial and you'll get hit with a $50 charge for the monthly plan even if you cancel the trial beforehand. Good luck asking for your money back either, because the support staff is terrible and will find any excuse to deny you. Your best bet is calling your bank to dispute it. It's unfortunate that a company this large needs to pull stunts like this to boost their bottom line. Go with pretty much any other platform, and I'd definitely suggest looking at competitors, but literally anything beats dealing with this mess.

Carlos V.Mar 20, 2026

Sounds like everyone else I've read. The refund system is terrible and they won't make exceptions even if you cancel right after getting billed. Support just repeats their policy at you. You don't get warnings when your payment method gets charged. I filed a complaint with my country's consumer protection agency and would encourage others to do the same wherever they are.

Marcus H.Mar 20, 2026

Same story I keep hearing from others. Their refund policy is awful, with no exceptions even when you cancel immediately after being charged. The support team just keeps repeating the policy over and over. There's no notification before they charge your card. I've filed a complaint with the consumer protection office in my area. I'd suggest anyone else dealing with this do the same in their region.

Pablo R.Mar 9, 2026

Watch out with this one. You enroll in Coursera Plus for a certain course and boom, they charge you for both Coursera Plus and the course itself. You start what you think is one trial but get slapped with two subscriptions. That's some pretty deceptive marketing right there. I won't tell anyone to sign up here. Also, courses marked as 'fully translated' are actually just subtitled in reality. They need to be clearer with their labeling.

Elena G.Mar 9, 2026

Here's the issue: you sign up for Coursera Plus thinking you'll get access to a specific course you want, then suddenly you're charged for both Coursera Plus and the course separately. So you intended to start one trial and ended up paying for two services. The marketing is definitely misleading. I won't be telling anyone else to use this site. Oh, and they claim courses are 'fully translated' but they're actually just subtitled. They should use a 'subtitled' label instead.

Michelle O.Mar 4, 2026

I might've scored them higher if the support team wasn't so disappointing. I enrolled in a course through their free trial feature but it wasn't at all what I was looking for. A day or two after I got charged, I asked about getting a refund and they said no. I wouldn't suggest it, particularly if you're just trying it out first.

Brandon W.Mar 4, 2026

I'd probably give them a better score if their support team hadn't disappointed me. I signed up for a course using their free trial offer but it turned out to be nothing like what I was hoping for. A couple days after getting charged, I asked for my money back and they said no. Honestly wouldn't suggest it, especially if you're just testing things out.

Thomas B.Mar 2, 2026

I'm unhappy with my experience here. The course material wasn't very good from my perspective, though I understand that's personal preference and perhaps someone else would have enjoyed it more. Since I know this subject well, I felt like the material fell short compared to other things I've studied. Trying to cancel my subscription turned into an unpleasant ordeal where I had to explain what consumer protections apply where I live. An American company that wasn't familiar with these rules, but now they are.

Steven K.Mar 2, 2026

I've had frustrating dealings with this company. In my view, the course material quality wasn't very good, though I get that's subjective and others might feel differently. This happens to be a subject I'm knowledgeable about, and the content didn't measure up to other resources I've studied. When I tried to end my subscription, it was a bad experience. I had to remind them about consumer rights that apply in my location, and fortunately they now understand those obligations better.

Robert T.Feb 19, 2026

This company is run by dishonest people, so be warned. I was working through some of their classes and had two answers on my final quiz that were being marked wrong unfairly no matter what I tried. Within a few hours, my entire course just disappeared. After investing so much effort to earn my certificate, I contacted support and they said they couldn't do anything about it. There's no phone number to call, nobody to reach out to. Don't pay for courses from these con artists.

Rachel T.Oct 16, 2025

I took a course on Excel for data work and it was fantastic. I picked up tons of useful information and wrapped it up in just one week. Best part? It didn't cost me anything. And I even received a certificate at the end. Fantastic experience overall.

Aisha F.May 4, 2025

This is the top online learning platform out there. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone.
