Dave & Adam's Card World receives sharply polarized feedback, with 23 shoppers rating the store 2.7 out of 5. Roughly four in ten reviewers report positive experiences, citing legitimate product sourcing and fast delivery as strengths. However, nearly half of reviewers express serious concerns about product quality and authenticity. Common complaints include suspicious pricing tactics (items disappearing and reappearing at higher prices), inadequate packaging leading to damaged cards and boxes, warped or damaged cards upon arrival, and reports of sealed products with visible tampering or mismatched card sets. Several shoppers describe pull rates that seemed unusually poor and question whether products have been resealed or compromised before shipping.

The most severe complaints involve potential scams: one shopper reported being ghosted after placing a preorder for over 300 Canadian dollars in January, while another received Magic booster boxes with visible seams, unopenable packs, and cards from wrong sets. Packaging appears to be a consistent weak point, with reviewers noting thin bubble wrap provides insufficient protection for expensive collectible boxes. The divergence between positive historical experiences and recent negative ones suggests possible changes in quality control or product sourcing that warrant caution for prospective buyers.

Two years back I bought from them and it was legitimate. Got my kids several boxes each and the pulls were normal, some okay and some not so great, typical experience. Fast forward to September and I tried again, it was just average. Then before I even looked at these reviews, I dropped over twelve hundred bucks on boxes for Christmas gifts. Every single pack slid open way too easily, not how they should behave. My kids even said before opening anything that something looked off. I keep insisting no these are legitimate but honestly it became clear real quick they're reselling opened product. You cannot buy ten Donruss Football boxes and pull absolutely nothing legitimate. Don't touch this place. A middle schooler could spot that something's wrong. They absolutely ruined the holidays. I could've gotten five insane cards with what I wasted on those boxes. Stay away.

Been ordering from them before without problems but lately the pricing games are frustrating. Had an Upper Deck The Cup box sitting in my cart for fifteen ninety five and it got removed saying sold out. Then boom, it shows back up a few hours later for sixteen fifty seven. It's like trying to buy concert tickets. Found somewhere else to spend my money.

First time ordering, spent two hundred fifty bucks on box sets and the delivery was quick which I appreciated. But the packaging was basically just thin bubble wrap draped on top, so two of my boxes ended up with dents on the corners. More concerning though was that three of the boxes arrived with warped cards inside, which basically kills any potential value. Not thrilled with how this went.

Picked up two Magic the Gathering booster boxes and there were obvious seams visible on the front. The packs wouldn't open by hand like they should. The cards inside were damaged but the box itself didn't show any damage from shipping. Cards weren't even from the right set, had cards from wrong releases in there. The pull rate was absurdly bad. Filed a fraud dispute with my bank and they sided with me.

Michelle D.May 7, 2025

Major scam alert. Ordered a booster box back in January for close to three hundred Canadian dollars as a preorder and they just ghosted me completely. Don't throw your money away here.

Miguel P.May 2, 2025

Grabbed a Mega Box of Donruss Optic and two Blaster Boxes from the same product line. Complete waste of money. This was my first and last order from them. Had a really rough time with it. The packs ended up with nothing but base cards, no rare inserts or anything. There were a few packs that were just base cards start to finish. I was pumped to get home and open everything but felt totally let down when I saw what was inside.

Shopping here is always a great experience. My orders come through super fast and everything is exactly right. Haven't run into any problems yet.

Brandon L.Jan 26, 2025

Picked up two Topps Marvel Chrome Sapphire boxes and they were definitely resealed. These cost seven hundred dollars each, so you'd think quality control would be tight. The packs had visible cuts that made it obvious which ones might have valuable hits. The wrapping looked off too. They blamed Topps for the issue but that's not how this works. Total scam.

They demand your credit card info then turn around and say you need to pay through PayPal or bank transfer instead. Absolutely not happening and you're clearly running something shady here.

Lucas V.Jul 26, 2024

Tried to purchase an expensive item and kept getting a limit exceeded error at checkout even though there was stock available and I was only grabbing one. Their tax exemption feature also seems broken. Reached out to customer service multiple times but got complete silence. Really poor execution on their end.

I've dumped a lot of cash into this place buying hobby boxes, retail boxes, and blaster boxes. Nothing I've ever pulled from their inventory has been worth more than a couple bucks. Honestly, looking at how much I've spent there, it's impossible that someone could actually be this unlucky. I'm pretty sure they're offloading the leftovers from cases where the good stuff already got yanked out. I collect cards for the hobby, not to flip them or make money, just want a reasonable experience. The odds of getting absolutely nothing good from all those boxes doesn't add up. I'm done. Won't be ordering from them anymore.

Had nothing but great luck with my purchases over the last year. Everything arrives sealed properly, shipments always hit the window they promise, and they run deals daily that are worth checking out. Highly recommend them if you're in the market for trading cards.

Marcus T.Apr 19, 2024

Over the past year I've placed multiple orders with this company and every single time it's been smooth sailing. The products always come to me sealed up tight, my shipments arrive exactly when they say they will, and they constantly have new daily deals running. If you're shopping around for trading cards, I'd definitely point you in their direction.

Frank G.Mar 14, 2024

Terrible experience from start to finish. Still waiting on my shipment containing over a thousand dollars worth of product. Switching to local card shops and other online retailers. Definitely avoid this one.

Erik H.Aug 22, 2023

Online ordering works fine, but visiting the physical store is a different story. Overall it's a decent place with tons of cards and memorabilia and the staff is trustworthy for the most part. That said there are definite areas to work on. Customer service on the floor is barely acceptable and the knowledge level is pretty low. There's one employee who actually knows what they're doing but when he's not working, there's nobody to fill that gap. As someone just getting into the hobby, it would be nice if the people selling me the products actually understood current market pricing.
