Terrible customer service. I placed an order and their system automatically used an old shipping address from my account. When I called support, they told me I had to ship it back on my own dime, wait for the refund, and then reorder. So apparently when Filson messes up, it's the customer who has to jump through hoops and pay twice for shipping. Any reasonable company would apologize and send the right size with a return label. The guy who answered the phone couldn't even speak English well and refused to escalate. I tried emailing them after that and got a generic message saying they'd respond in three to five business days. These people sell coats that cost over a thousand dollars and they treat customers this way. I'm honestly disappointed that I spent thousands of dollars with them before figuring out how badly they treat people. Stay away from this place. This company has gone downhill.
DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. Wish I'd looked at reviews first. They charged me sales tax on a jacket being shipped to a state that doesn't tax clothing. That has to be illegal. Most people probably don't even notice so it seems like they're scamming and keeping the extra money. On top of that the order was delayed. I sent them two separate emails asking them to cancel it. They ignored both and shipped it anyway. So I had to make a thirty mile round trip to UPS to send it back. They wasted an hour of my time when I'd explicitly asked them to cancel.
I'd give them zero stars if I could. I've been buying from Filson for a long time and placed an order for two expensive items back in October. In mid-November I sent an email asking for a status update. No response for a week. I sent another email asking if ignoring customer messages was normal for them. After a few more days they finally replied just to say they got my email and were working on it. A few days later they emailed to say my order was cancelled because of inventory issues and I'd be getting a refund, plus they offered me a ten percent discount on something else. Why would I ever use that? They had no problem holding onto my money for weeks before they even bothered to respond. I told them to stop contacting me altogether. This company has terrible customer service and quality control. If this is how they treat long-time customers, imagine what they do to new ones. Steer clear.
I'm never buying from Filson again. Got something from their outlet for what seemed like a great deal and was pumped about it. Then nothing for eighteen days. When I finally contacted support they said there was a software glitch and my order was still being processed. A month plus later I emailed back asking what was going on. They said it was out of stock and they'd refund me. I called customer service and the person told me the order was never actually cancelled. Then she said she couldn't cancel it herself and someone higher up would have to do it, but she had no clue how long that would take. That's insane that their own reps can't handle cancellations, especially when it's their fault for selling something that's not in stock. I might have to call my bank and dispute this at this point. As someone from Seattle I'm really let down. I used to think Filson was a solid company but not anymore. Won't recommend them to anyone. This whole thing has been the worst online shopping experience I've ever had.
Purchased a rugged twill briefcase from Filson years ago because I trusted the quality and their lifetime warranty. Absolutely terrible customer service here. Only order from them if you're 100 percent sure you're keeping whatever you buy. Getting a refund is a nightmare. Ordered two beautiful lined wool packer coats at a thousand dollars each in size triple extra large. They ended up being too big for me since I always size up to be safe. I shipped them back right away using the return label they provided. Filson got them on the twelfth and put them back on their site where they both sold within a day. I'm still trying to get my two thousand dollar refund. I've called customer service repeatedly but keep getting dropped because they claim the lines are full. I think they actually won't answer on purpose because customers are upset and they don't want to deal with it.
I've owned a Filson Ballistic Duffle bag for a year and a half and it's honestly fantastic. But then two of the straps broke, which is shocking for a three hundred pound bag. I filled out their repair form and waited four weeks just for them to look at it and ask for photos. They still haven't gotten to that. Plus they're closed until mid-January. It's really poor customer service. No matter how good their products are, I won't buy from them again based on how they handle problems. She said she'd email me a return slip in two to three business days. I pointed out I'd already been trying for over ten days with zero results from Filson. She basically said sorry, that's all I can do. When I asked how I'm supposed to trust that promise after three failures, she said it's my only option. Yeah, Filson really dropped the ball here.
What a dishonest operation. Filson provides some of the worst customer service around. Emails go unanswered, chat isn't available, and their phone system has this fake recording claiming they can't accept calls because they're closed. Total nonsense.

Turns out they use some third party service called Bolt to handle payments, and the whole thing just falls apart and cancels your order.
