Shoppers have overwhelmingly negative feedback about Huggies wipes, with 22 reviews rating the store 1.4 out of 5. The dominant complaint centers on recent product changes: wipes are now thinner, smaller in size, and fewer per package while prices remain high or have increased. Customers report severe difficulties separating individual wipes from the package, requiring them to use multiple wipes per application and significantly increasing usage. Many long-term loyal customers (some citing 20+ years of purchases) express profound frustration, noting the loss of quality design elements like embossed patterns and describing the texture as "paper-thin" and "dry."

Several reviewers mention the wipes now have an unpleasant odor and lack the performance they previously delivered. The consistent theme is that customers feel disrespected by what they perceive as downsizing and cost-cutting while maintaining or raising prices. Multiple shoppers indicate they are switching to competitor brands like Pampers. A small minority gave higher ratings (5 percent five-star, 5 percent four-star, and 5 percent two-star reviews), but these represent isolated positive experiences among overwhelmingly negative feedback.

Another so-called improvement that actually means getting fewer for more money. The new design is thinner and won't open up when you pull them out, which is the last thing you want when dealing with a messy kid. You're either struggling to separate and peel apart every single wipe or settling for a half-sized folded one and doubling your usage. Totally disappointing!

I used Huggies PURE Baby Wipes for so long and absolutely loved them until now. I can't believe how poor the quality has become. What changed? They're paper-thin and I can't pull them apart in the package. The embossed bear design that was on each sheet is gone too. Now I have to use two at a time to get decent coverage. So frustrated! Definitely switching to another brand.

Why did you change the formula? They're now totally useless. The texture is thin and dry, and getting them out of the pack is a real struggle. I've stuck with Huggies for years but I'm going to have to switch to something else. Not buying these again.

Christopher D.Dec 29, 2025

Twenty-six years as a loyal customer and I'm done. The recent changes have made this product almost unrecognizable from what it used to be. These used to be the gold standard for cleaning and wiping everything, not just babies. Now there are fewer in the pack, each one is smaller and made from a thinner inferior material, they're harder to pull out, the packaging is harder to open, and the dispensing hole is smaller making it difficult to grab individual wipes. The wipes aren't interlocked anymore either, so you can't easily grab the next one. When you do manage to get one out, it's often folded in half making it impossible to straighten. The company really messed this up. This change was a disaster and whoever approved it made a huge mistake. I've found a replacement that actually works better in the Aldi brand, which comes with 80 wipes versus Huggies' 48.

You've completely ruined what was already a great product. The Natural Care line was my go-to for so long and I went through pack after pack. The first time you downsized them a few years back was already frustrating and felt disrespectful to customers, but I dealt with it. Now though, this is unacceptable. Seriously, have you lost it? I've grabbed better wipes from a gas station to clean my windshield. The rough texture, the lack of moisture, how thin they are now. How do you justify charging the same price for something that's clearly inferior? And the fact that you deny changing the formula? Come on. You literally cannot wipe anything with these. They're rough and dry with this weird plastic-like squeaky feel, and they won't glide smoothly at all. It's like wiping with fiberglass. What is this product even made of? Are you intentionally trying to drive people away? Because your strategy is working perfectly.

I can't understand why Huggies would take a baby wipe that was performing so well in the market, so good that I left Pampers for them, and then decide to ruin it. The new version has an unpleasant odor, feels drier, and pulling out a single wipe means half the package comes flying out. I've gone back to Pampers and I'm not looking back.

What's going on with Huggies wipes? I've been a customer for over a decade but I'm done now. The packs keep getting smaller, going from 64 down to 48 wipes. They're thinner, smaller in size, and completely pointless now. They're basically see-through at this point and I'm not wasting money anymore.

Michelle B.Nov 28, 2025

Terrible. I agree with everyone else. I've been buying the Pure wipes for years and they were excellent, now they're terrible. They're smaller, drier, thinner, and nearly impossible to get out. That was my last purchase.

Victor S.Nov 16, 2025

I've been buying in bulk for years but I'm absolutely devastated by how much the quality and feel has changed. Going from what they used to be to what they are now is one of the most frustrating disappointments I've experienced. This prompted me to speak up publicly for the first time, urging others to look elsewhere. Bring back what made Huggies worth buying!

Tyler R.Nov 11, 2025

These aren't the wipes to grab if you want something accessible and worth the cash. If you're in a hurry and need wipes fast, prepare for frustration. The packaging is hard to open and the wipes are practically stuck together, making it nearly impossible to pull out just one. When you finally manage to grab something, ten wipes come out at once. There's no way to grab a single wipe and you'll end up buying way more packs because of the waste. And good luck trying this with just one hand available, like when you're managing a kid. Putting them back in the pack doesn't help either. I'm convinced this is done on purpose to boost profits since every redesign makes things worse.

Gregory F.Nov 9, 2025

I wish I could give you zero stars. What did you do to the wipes? They're completely synthetic now and my baby's skin is reacting badly. Your management team should really reconsider their decisions because this is a failure.

Olivia U.Oct 28, 2025

The new wipes are much worse quality and cost more. It's a bad choice by the company that shows zero respect for what customers need. I won't be buying anymore.

Andrew G.Oct 27, 2025

What's going on with your product? I've been a loyal buyer of Huggies Pure Baby Wipes from Costco for many years. I usually buy multiple boxes, with each box containing twelve individual packs. I want to express how disappointed I am with the quality of the last couple of boxes I bought. Both boxes had issues throughout: the wipes have practically no moisture left and feel completely different from the quality I've relied on. They're incredibly dry and obviously much worse compared to the product I trusted for years. I also noticed the count dropped from 72 to 60 wipes per pack. This combination of fewer wipes and worse quality suggests cost-cutting is taking priority over the standards customers should expect. I'm returning both boxes to Costco but I wanted to reach out directly. Pure wipes have been my number one choice and it's sad to see such a major drop in quality. I'd like to know if the previous better formula will be brought back.

What happened to your product? I've been buying Huggies Pure Baby Wipes from Costco for many years. I usually grab multiple boxes at once, each containing a dozen individual packets. I'm really upset about the quality of the last two boxes I received. Every single packet had the same issue: the wipes are extremely dry and feel totally different from what I'm used to. The texture and performance have dropped significantly. The pack count also went from 72 down to 60, which combined with the quality loss tells me the company is choosing cost savings over what customers deserve. I'm returning both boxes as defective, but I wanted to raise this with you directly. Huggies Pure wipes have always been my top choice and I'm disappointed by how much the quality has suffered. I'd appreciate knowing if there are plans to go back to the better formula.

I've depended on Huggies wet wipes for years for taking off makeup. Whatever you've changed in the formula, I'm guessing it's about saving money on your end. The pack has fewer wipes, they're much thinner, and the scent is off. I need to find another brand. Very disappointed with this change.
