Five Stars All the Way - This place deserves five stars and then some! The glasses I got are amazing quality and actually better than what was advertised. They normally take 7 to 10 days to ship but mine arrived in 5. And get this, they said they couldn't take them back anyway, but told me to donate them to a local nursing home instead. This company has me as a customer forever!
They Hid All the Reviews - I've actually been pretty happy with most of the many pairs of reading glasses I've bought from them over the years. When a pair broke I didn't worry too much since they weren't super expensive. But I've been lucky to avoid the awful customer service other people are talking about until this happened. Recently they deleted all the customer reviews for their glasses styles from their site. Any good company would know how important honest reviews are for online shopping. Pretty much every other retailer out there from Target to Etsy to big name stores shows customer reviews. It shocked me when the Readers.com reviews that helped me pick frames just vanished. So I sent them an email about it, waited two days, and got back some generic response like we'll look into it and whatever. The whole thing feels shady.
This Doesn't Work - I tried to buy something but a discount code I found on their Facebook wouldn't go through. I emailed them several times asking for help and got nothing back. When I finally commented on one of their Facebook posts, they did respond but it was not helpful. The people who answered my questions and messages clearly didn't actually read what I sent them, even though I included pictures showing the bad code, my email, and the item in my cart. They didn't own up to any of their mistakes either. They just weren't listening. The follow-up emails I got later had the same problem. Overall, this whole thing was really frustrating and made me not want to work with them. Why would you buy from a company that can't even talk to you properly or show they understand what you're saying? You wouldn't. I won't.
Frames Keep Breaking - I've bought 5 pairs from them and every single pair has had the frame snap right at the bottom of the lens. I'm not rough with them or anything. There was one pair I kept in a case that I only wore twice, took them out and the frame was already broken. This is just cheap junk. I'm done buying from Readers.com.
Wish There Was a Zero Option - Why isn't there a zero star button? My glasses are either on my head or sitting in the case, but the frame cracked after just 2 months. This is junk quality.
Never Got My Stuff - I placed an order for two pairs of bifocals, one at $19 and another for $5. All I received was the cheaper $5 pair and it's completely worthless. Still haven't gotten the $19 item that I ordered first. Then a few days ago on Feb 6th, I ordered another $5 pair for my spouse and it's equally terrible - still no word from them about it. These people are straight up scamming folks. Do yourself a favor and buy your glasses somewhere else. Readers.com is not trustworthy.
