What Shoppers Say About American Signature
American Signature furniture consistently receives poor ratings from shoppers, with the majority citing serious issues with delivery and customer service rather than the furniture itself. Reviewers report repeated delivery delays and cancellations without clear communication, unmet promised pickup dates, and rudeness from staff members. Several shoppers noted that showroom staff were knowledgeable and the ordering process went smoothly initially, but the experience deteriorated significantly after purchase. Post-sale support appears to be the most damaging issue, with customers reporting difficulty getting responses about damaged items, warranty claims, and furniture repairs, and feeling abandoned once the sale was complete.
While a small number of shoppers gave higher ratings, the dominant complaint pattern centers on the company's failure to follow through on delivery promises and its lack of accountability after the transaction concludes. Multiple customers specifically mentioned being given different dates for pickup or delivery, experiencing multiple cancellations without warning, and struggling to reach anyone at corporate or store level who could resolve their issues. The overall impression from reviewers is that American Signature prioritizes the sale but shows little concern for customer satisfaction afterward.

Sorted by: Most recentBad company to buy from. The furniture costs too much and is built cheap. I ordered in early November and was told pickup would be around Thanksgiving. They lied. Then they called saying I could grab it on December 24th. Yesterday a rude employee called saying the stuff had been sitting there since December 1st and they couldn't hold it anymore for ten days. I wanted to talk to a manager about the rude behavior and terrible service. They said the manager was in a meeting and would call back. Spoiler alert - no call came. He just didn't want to deal with us. The original salesperson was unfriendly until she realized we'd shopped there before. Then she got even friendlier when she saw our 5000 dollar credit limit. She was being fake just to push us into spending more so her commission would be bigger. Her whole attitude switched back to being cold and rude once we said we didn't need 5000 worth of items. Our first order was only about 3000 anyway.
I bought furniture from American Signature Madison and the actual products were fine, but the delivery experience was awful. The ordering went smoothly and the staff in the showroom knew their stuff. Then things fell apart after I paid. The delivery date they promised didn't happen and I dealt with multiple postponements without getting clear answers. I had to bug them repeatedly just to find out what was going on, which was annoying when I was trying to plan around it. When the delivery finally happened, the items showed up in poor shape - one mattress was soaked from rain and one of the delivery guys had a bad attitude. The whole thing was ruined by the slow delivery and lack of communication. Waiting months for furniture without regular updates or set timelines is really not acceptable. The products themselves might be nice, but the delays and poor updates made the whole experience bad. I won't shop there again. If you need reliable delivery timing, look elsewhere. The furniture is quality and stylish, but their logistics team needs to get their act together.
Absolutely terrible experience with Value City Furniture at the local franchise - they're part of American Signature. Our delivery got cancelled without any warning even though we'd confirmed the date days before. Then it happened again. And again. Four cancellations total! We reached out to corporate and they told us to handle it through the store and work our way up to a regional manager before they'd step in. We got no communication at first, then poor and confusing updates after that. The delivery and sales teams kept blaming each other and told us to ignore the official tracking info we got with our receipt. At one point the delivery operations manager actually suggested taking a missing item from another customer's order, which was seriously wrong. Later cancellations were blamed on DOT rules with their third-party shipper, even though the delivery was supposed to be locked in. The store manager showed no real empathy and just gave us excuses instead of actual solutions.
Working with this company feels like buying a car from a used lot. Once the sale is done and you leave, they don't want to hear about any problems. Call them as many times as you want or visit the store in person, but getting your furniture fixed seems impossible. I'd recommend shopping somewhere else.
Don't purchase this - the Bellini sectional is a problem. I bought one in November 2023 with a left arm, right arm, and one armless piece that all recline. By January I called the salesperson to say the fabric seemed to be changing color or picking up oils and stains from our clothes. He told me to file a claim through the extended warranty I'd paid about 500 dollars for. When I tried to claim it, they said the fabric issue wasn't covered. I got the store manager involved and he sent a tech to look and take photos. Two weeks went by with nothing, then customer service said there was nothing they could help with. When I asked for manufacturer contact info, they wouldn't give it to me. Now I'm stuck with a couch that looks filthy. The fabric won't clean properly - stains and dirt just smear around instead of coming off. I'm frustrated they won't acknowledge the fabric problem, especially since I've seen plenty of these couches in their clearance section that look just as dirty and were sent back.
This company has no integrity at all. I ordered a new sofa on March 23rd and it arrived on the morning of April 4th. When the delivery crew unwrapped it, I saw two tears in the fabric - one on the top corner and one on the bottom corner on the same side. The driver said he'd report the damage when he got back to the store. I followed up on Monday and was told nothing was ever reported. Customer service refused to give me a manager's number. I've called dozens of times and sent multiple emails, but nobody from service or management calls me back. At this point I'm convinced they're hoping I'll give up and disappear. I was really excited about this sofa, but between the damage and their refusal to deal with it, the whole thing has been a nightmare.
Skip this place! The customer service is terrible and they give you misleading information. We bought a dining room set and two nightstands back in August 2023. The nightstands were supposed to arrive in October, dining set in December. We waited patiently through the long timelines, but then in November they told us the chairs wouldn't come until February. A week before the December delivery, we found out the dining table was being pushed to mid or late January. How are we supposed to handle that? We called to cancel and had to fight hard just to get the delivery fee back. This has been the absolute worst furniture shopping experience ever. Nobody should have to stress out about getting a refund this way. Shop literally anywhere else but American Signature or Value City - do yourself a favor.
Honestly, I'd give them zero stars if I could. This company has been impossible to reach about my warranty claim. They approved my replacement, but here's the problem - I moved to Arizona and can't pick it up from the Florida store. I've been trying to work out a solution, but nobody there will help me. Managers are never available and corporate isn't any better. I'm happy to pay for shipping, but I can't even get someone on the phone to figure this out. Won't be shopping at small one-location retailers again - if you move away, you're completely out of luck.
Really grateful to American Signature for stepping up. When my couches got delivered, two of the pieces weren't right. They replaced them without any fuss and got it done quickly. I'm genuinely impressed by how they handled it. Fantastic service from ASF.
Good experience with their team. My wife and I picked up the Cordelle Swivel Chair when we first moved into our apartment. The frame showed up damaged, but they took care of us and sent a replacement at no cost. The new one has held up great over time. I'd definitely purchase from them again.
