Sorted by: Most recentWatch out. I spent a ton of cash on shelving back in 2023. Now I'm trying to pick up some additional brackets and pieces and they're telling me they don't stock them anymore. They suggested looking at Amazon or other sites. What bothers me most is that when I first bought the system they had to have known they were planning to stop producing parts. Not a company I can trust. Still waiting on a response from them as of late August 2024, so take that however you want.
The design specialists at the Container Store in Chelsea were absolutely incredible when I worked with them on a custom Elfa installation, and I couldn't be more thrilled with what I got. I have to give special props to Kathryn, Rachel, Joel, Ben, and especially Dan, who was the lead designer on my build. Dan was with me from start to finish and showed such amazing patience, kindness, and attention to detail during the whole process. He came up with some really creative and practical ideas that made the project come together beautifully. When Dan got sick partway through, the whole team pitched in without missing a beat to keep everything moving forward. It was impressive how they all worked together to get my supplies on time and finish the installation within my tight deadline. Their flexibility and quality work in such a short window was genuinely exceptional. I'm so thankful for everything they did and how professionally they handled it all. I'll definitely be coming back for my own storage needs and I'll be recommending them to my contacts as well.
Never had worse customer service in my life. I ordered a laundry hamper with removable bags and about 6 hours later sent them an email asking to cancel since it wasn't collapsible. They said they couldn't stop it because FedEx was already getting ready for pickup. I asked how to return it and they gave me an address in Texas. Then I found out that shipping that 19x19x30 box back from New York would run me over $140, which is more than what I paid. I called to complain about it, pointing out that it obviously didn't cost them that much to ship it to me. Asked for a supervisor and they refused to let me talk to one. They told me to bring it to a store but I have real trouble walking and can't physically carry a huge box like that into a shop. They have zero prepaid return label system. I wish I'd never found out about them. My advice is to go literally anywhere else.
I was really hopeful but ended up really disappointed. Spent over $500 my first month there and now I regret it because the company is just a mess. First problem was one of my shelves arrived missing a foot piece. I called customer service and they told me to just buy the replacement from Amazon. Terrible solution. Second problem was I needed to return something. The store near me looked close on paper but realistically takes over 2 hours to get to from where I live. They didn't give me any prepaid return shipping labels? This is the Amazon era! That's just unacceptable. They expect me to pay out of pocket and containers are awkward and pricey to ship. Steer clear of this place.
Paid $69 for an upscale rolling cart almost a year ago. It stopped working in October 2021. Called their main office and they said it wasn't covered anymore and refused to help. Bought it at the Cherry Hill store in New Jersey. This organization is acting like a scam and I've filed a complaint with the state attorney general. I won't be buying from them again. All they care about is making money, not keeping customers happy. Not worth anyone's time. Save your cash. Apparently they discontinued the product because too many people complained about problems with it. Well no wonder!
What a letdown with their support team. Ordered almost $200 worth of kitchen storage boxes. They're pricey compared to other brands but their quality is unbeatable. I filled in my current mailing address and payment info and pressed the button to finish my order. Days went by with no delivery, so I checked where it went and discovered they shipped it to an old address I used to have. I tried reaching support and got stuck holding the line seemingly forever before they just disconnected. Then I tried their online chat and got someone named Natalie who immediately blamed me before I could even explain what happened. When I told her I definitely typed in my correct address and this was their mistake, she basically said too bad, it was already delivered and I should track down the people in New Jersey who got my package and ask them for it. I'm in South Carolina! That's why I'll never give them money again. Amazon and Walmart would send me replacements to keep my business, but the Container Store acts like they couldn't care less.
Got a delivery of 8 fridge organizers and regrettably one arrived damaged. Contacted their support and got a fast response. They offered me either a fresh item or money back and because of the international shipping hassle I selected the refund. Super impressed with how quick they responded and the other organizers are truly wonderful. I've read some complaints that certain items aren't dishwasher safe but they clearly list that information on their site so just make sure to review it and you're all set.
