Got a message letting me know one item was backordered and asked if I wanted to wait or get my money back. I chose to stick it out. Best decision! Reached out for a status update and the owner personally got back to me fast. He told me the beans they had didn't meet their standards because of the harvest that year, so instead he sent me a special small-batch coffee as a replacement. I said yes and my package showed up quick. The coffee was seriously amazing. Then, after the original beans came in at the quality level they wanted, they sent those to me at no charge. Seriously. Can't say enough about their commitment to quality and how much they care. These folks earned my business forever. The flavor in every cup is outstanding and they really go the distance for their customers. Looking for excellent coffee with a company that actually gives a darn? Don Pablo is your answer.
I've left some negative reviews about Don Pablo coffees in the past. This one's different though and it's really about the company itself and not the product. A few weeks back, owner Darron reached out wanting to understand what I didn't like about their coffee. We had a really deep email conversation. Turns out neither of us was wrong, we just have different taste preferences. The discussion got into some real coffee knowledge stuff and he realized I actually know my way around the subject. We traded stories about how we fell in love with coffee. He offered to send me samples of their light roasts to try and asked if I'd give feedback, and I was excited to. He also gave me the chance to help develop some new roasts. Here's the thing: while their dark roasts aren't for me and I can't suggest them to people, this is a company built on caring about what customers think and want. Darron made an effort to reach out and connect with me and make sure I was satisfied.
You give them money and then your stuff never actually gets sent out. Call them and you reach an answering machine, not the actual business. Email them and you get nothing back. Just steer clear of them.
Nothing but lies and deception from this outfit. I've been buying from them for years and now every single subscription order takes two months to get to me after I've paid. I'm out seventeen pounds of coffee that they owe me. All I get are generic copied and pasted emails saying the same nonsense, and the worst part is seeing 'your coffee should arrive next week' over and over. It's a scam where they take your cash and hold onto your product for months. They're not even a BBB member for some reason. Done with all of them.
I've bought from Don Pablo Coffee between 2021 and 2024 a handful of times, and I'm just waiting for my last purchase ever from them to arrive. I'm telling you, coffee lovers should look elsewhere. Everyone else is saying the same thing. Placed my order on September 1st, and it's now October 6th. The only message I got was a vague, impersonal blast email on September 23rd about delays. If your supply chain keeps failing or you don't have enough staff to manage online orders, you should talk to your customers way earlier and probably just close your online store. This happens constantly with them. You'd think they're roasting and shipping beans one at a time the way things move. Maybe they're just running a skeleton crew. How are so many other coffee roasters getting quality product to customers in half the time? Don Pablo needs to completely rethink how they do business because it's not working for anyone buying from them.
Been ordering from them for a while but things went downhill. Orders started taking longer and longer to arrive. They charge your card right away when you place an order, of course. My last purchase was back in mid-July, and I had to cancel it on the last day of August. They're supposedly sending a refund. Until I reached out myself, they never bothered to contact me once, not even when I complained multiple times. Same story every time I call them in, saying just wait a few more days. I noticed they logged into my account around that Friday or maybe a day or two later. Still waiting on that money back for the two 5-pound bags of beans.
Don Pablo has absolutely terrible customer service when it comes to actually getting the product you bought. Six weeks ago I placed an order and still haven't seen it. When I call, they give me the same excuse every single time. They say they got a big order and are behind because they roast fresh every day. That's not okay. Meanwhile they charged my card the same day I ordered. Now let's see how long it takes them to give me my money back since they took it upfront instead of when the order ships. Won't touch this company again or tell anybody to use them.
The coffee itself is fantastic, and the decaf is especially great. Finding a decent decaf that doesn't cost an arm and a leg is tough, and theirs is solid. The real problem is how they handle getting orders out the door. They hit your credit card immediately when you buy, but your package takes more than a month to show up, sometimes six weeks or longer. That's a headache and sketchy from a payment processing standpoint too.
Three weeks have gone by and nothing has shipped. No emails, no refund, radio silence. Fair warning that this company is running a scam or defrauding customers.
Make sure you stockpile coffee before ordering here. This is my second time getting burned. Been a month since they charged my card and still no shipment. Last time it was two months. Wouldn't it be nice if their website said 'currently out of stock' instead of letting them charge your card and making you wait one to two months? It's unacceptable.
