There's nobody you can talk to about fixing it or getting your money back. I'm trying to find other people who want to file a formal fraud complaint because this problem has been going on forever.
I went to take my test on ged.com and the proctor conducting my check-in wasted the whole time saying my photos of my test space weren't correct, even though I took them exactly the same way I did for my last test. That's not right. They really need to get better people doing the proctoring from home.
Don't throw your money away on this. These people take your payment and then they can cancel a test you already finished if they decide something was wrong with it. That makes no sense. You can't trust them at all. Go somewhere else. I lost my money and got zero explanation. They decided something wasn't right with my test or my scores either way. It's a scam and a rip-off. Don't even bother with it.
I'm convinced they're committing fraud. They're taking people's hard earned money because the proctor shut down my test before it even got started. All I saw on the screen was a message saying I had something not allowed, but I literally just had my laptop and mouse sitting on my desk. This happened on Sunday, so I can't even reach customer service to find out what they're talking about since they're only open Monday through Friday. I took my test on a weekend because I work the whole week and don't have time during the day. This is completely wrong and I need a credit to retest because I'm not paying again for their mistake. I want to talk to a supervisor or someone in upper management right away. I plan on reporting this to the department of education and the better business bureau until something gets fixed. I take my education and my money seriously and I don't mess around about either one.
I paid 139 dollars and they assigned me an advisor. I kept trying to message and call with no success. Eventually I called the help line and they had no clue how to use the GED.COM system. I'm requesting a full refund.
Four years ago my partner finished the GED exam and they emailed a copy to his mother, who printed it out and kept it safe. We weren't careful and he ended up losing the paperwork. We looked through all his emails but couldn't find the original. We called a local office and they told us we'd have to pay to get the same document sent again. Somehow they can pull it up and resend it, so obviously they have it on file, right? Anyway, we needed it fast so we went ahead and paid 15 dollars for a new copy. I'm still waiting to hear back from them about the whole situation.
This is getting ridiculous. I think a class action lawsuit against ged.com and their testing partner is what needs to happen. This needs to stop. I'm not worried about money, I just want them shut down. If anyone's interested in working together, reach out. We probably need about 6 more people to make this happen. We might even be able to take action against the department of education because this whole setup is corrupt and it's basically a monopoly. These companies are making millions off people who just want to improve their education.
I've taken the social studies section 4 times. I failed 3 of them by just 1 point each. The 4th time I did extra prep work and was totally confident I'd pass. But these people are all about making money, period. We're not even allowed to find out which questions we got wrong on the exam. They give you a score and that's it. It's a total con job.
