Everything is digital these days, so there's really no excuse for sitting on miles that long. That part drives me crazy.
Our Hawaii flights got canceled because of COVID, which meant we had to cancel our island hopping plans too. They offered to reschedule us through their website but that wouldn't work for our situation since we can't visit for a couple years at least. We called and spoke with a really helpful representative who promised a refund, and within just a few days the full amount showed up in our account. Most other airlines were promising refunds months down the line, so they really went above and beyond. Very appreciative.
Wanted to share that they gave me a full refund when COVID forced me to cancel my flights. Meanwhile, Virgin Atlantic was only offering rescheduled flights which makes zero sense for a trip booked for a specific occasion. So five stars to Hawaiian Airlines for actually listening to customers. Will definitely book with them again. Virgin Atlantic though, I'm done with them for good.
We absolutely love this airline for our Hawaii trips. I'd recommend them to anyone. They really know how to make flying fun with complimentary hot meals, pillows, and blankets. The seating arrangement is perfect for couples who want their own row, and they have a nice middle section that lets families stay together. Plus their flight schedule works out great, we usually land right around when we can check into our hotel, and those Sunday evening departures give us one more day to enjoy the beach before heading home.
