What Shoppers Say About Johnny Rockets
Johnny Rockets receives mixed feedback centered on its nostalgic 1950s diner atmosphere, which shoppers consistently praise for its entertaining staff and retro appeal. The food quality is polarized: some diners report juicy, delicious burgers and excellent shakes, while others frequently encounter dried-out burgers that lack flavor. Pricing is a recurring concern, with several reviewers noting that costs do not align with the quality and portion sizes delivered.
Service inconsistency emerges as a significant issue across reviews. While some staff members are described as friendly and welcoming, others are noted as disengaged or inattentive. Common complaints include long waits despite low capacity, servers failing to introduce themselves, and difficulty obtaining basic items like napkins and utensils. Food quality and service appear to vary by location or visit, suggesting operational inconsistencies that affect the overall dining experience.

Sorted by: Most recentThe retro 1950s diner setting with the entertaining staff members really brings back that nostalgic feel, which families and classic diner lovers will appreciate. However, the actual burgers are pretty ordinary when you compare them to other burger places available today, and the pricing just doesn't match up with the quality you're getting for a basic meal.
The burger itself was really great, but the service was pretty rough. Our waitress seemed disengaged and didn't really show much interest in how we were doing. It would help if the staff worked on being more personable and attentive to customers.
We got seated way later than expected even though the restaurant wasn't even busy. The server who seated us didn't introduce himself, and once we ordered, he brought our drinks and food pretty quickly. But then we had to ask multiple times for napkins and utensils, and we only ended up with one set. The whole experience felt pretty cold and unwelcoming. He never came back to check on how we were doing with our meal. I've eaten at other locations in different states and was treated much better. Definitely won't be returning to this one.
The restaurant had started serving cold food and overly dry chicken, which was disappointing. But I decided to give it another shot, and I'm so glad I did! The two team members working that night were super friendly and welcoming. The chicken was absolutely delicious and the fries came out hot and crispy. As someone pretty particular about their food, I'm definitely planning to come back again soon.
I'm not sure what's going on at my local location, but every burger I order comes out completely dried out. All the moisture seems to get cooked away, which is really frustrating. I understand that burgers need to be cooked through, but this is taking it way too far.
This spot has that awesome 1950s Americana vibe and ranks right up there with my favorite burger places around. The burgers are really good and the shakes are worth any wait time. Pro tip: you can request them to turn your shake into a malt, which is my go-to order every time.
I absolutely love going to Johnny Rockets! The burgers are fantastic and the fries are top-notch. It's easy to see why I keep coming back time and time again. The staff has consistently provided amazing service over the years, and I really appreciate it. I've had great experiences at multiple locations, including one where the team went above and beyond with their hospitality. The food quality is simply delicious, and menu items like their specialty burgers with toppings and creative milkshakes are always a treat. Thanks so much for the wonderful dining experiences!
