I check it out fairly often. The L.A. Times isn't perfect but they do work toward being fair and balanced in these times. Just not for everybody though.

I was taking an online course and wanted to investigate the instructor through news articles. Found a piece that was supposedly written by someone claiming to be his former student. But I couldn't figure out how to trust his critique or verify the facts since I had no way to validate his claims. Plus the language was so technical and convoluted that I couldn't really grasp what he was even trying to say.

If you've read complaints about hard cancellation processes, hidden terms, automatic renewals without notice, and unexpected charges for old amounts, believe them. We're fighting charges of almost $100 for a past due balance on a subscription I ended last year. A service rep promised us a refund over the phone, then sent an email contradicting that promise. Seems like he just said whatever to end the call. Watch out. They're pushy and don't listen to customers.
