That said, for a brand with Marimekko's reputation, the packaging experience needs improvement. They should stick to one standard. Orders from Finland come in proper branded cardboard boxes, but when I got my Unikko bedspread from elsewhere, it showed up wrapped in what looked like a plain grey garbage bag with just my address written on it. No branding, nothing. It felt really cheap and disappointing. For a luxury brand, I'd expect consistent, thoughtful packaging every time. I'd also love to see them switch to eco-friendly materials like paper tape instead of plastic, and definitely retire those awful plastic bin bag wrappings for both aesthetic and environmental reasons.
I bought some things online as a birthday present and they said delivery would be 3-5 business days. After 6 business days with no updates, I emailed them. I also tried calling their main office number three times but kept getting voicemail. They finally emailed on day 6 saying my order shipped, but there's no way to track it. Terrible service and I won't be coming back. I've seen lots of complaints about this company online.

I have a real problem with Marimekko. Skip them if you're in the UK. When you return something, they won't refund the tax you paid on it.
My kids each got a blanket cover set from grandma and we wanted to exchange for different colors and get a refund the same day. Turns out we couldn't because we only had the receipt but not the original card used for purchase. The store staff understood our situation but couldn't do anything about it. A cash refund would have been the right call, but that wasn't an option. It's unfortunate to feel this way about such a well-known brand, but I won't be shopping there again.

Really unreliable company. I ordered something, realized the size was wrong, and after confirming with support that I'd get a full refund, I shipped it back over two weeks ago. Starting last week I've emailed and called their team 4-5 times to check the status, plus messaged them on social media multiple times. Still nothing. No response, no refund. The dress quality itself was disappointing, and now their non-existent customer service makes me question if anyone's actually working there. Still waiting for my refund to this day.
I placed 2 orders two weeks back and they still haven't even shipped. Customer service keeps giving me vague responses like we're doing our best and thanks for being patient. Not worth it. If your online sales jumped because you closed physical locations, then actually hire enough people to handle the volume or move staff to ecommerce.
