What Shoppers Say About Old Spice
Old Spice receives a low rating of 2.3 out of 5 from 23 shoppers, with significant dissatisfaction evident in reviews. The primary complaint centers on product effectiveness, particularly regarding antiperspirant and deodorant performance. Multiple shoppers report that the product fails to provide adequate underarm protection, with some stating they experience the same level of sweating regardless of application or that protection deteriorates within a couple of hours. Shoppers also note inconsistency between marketing promises and actual product performance. Additionally, several long-time customers express disappointment that the brand's quality has declined compared to earlier decades, and some mention issues with fragrance intensity and longevity.
While a minority of reviewers acknowledge positive aspects such as pleasant scent options (Oasis is mentioned favorably), these positives are substantially outweighed by complaints about core functionality. Some long-time customers express loyalty frustration, citing the availability of superior alternatives like Dove. A few shoppers have also raised concerns about the brand's advertising approach and messaging, though product performance remains the dominant issue driving negative feedback across reviews.

Sorted by: Most recentThis is seriously the best deodorant available. The aluminum-free formula supports your natural testosterone levels, which matters for any real guy. Outstanding quality and their marketing campaigns are phenomenal.
Would give zero stars if allowed. This caused chemical burns under both of my armpits, causing intense pain and lasting problems. Old Spice showed no concern about what happened.
Old Spice High Endurance is top tier deodorant. I quit using it for over a year and couldn't figure out why I'd ever left. Soon as I popped the cap and peeled that plastic, everything came back to me. The scent hits right fresh and robust without being overpowering, and it's got this balanced quality that performs. More importantly, it actually stops odor so I stay fresh around everyone from clients to coworkers. The price is reasonable compared to competitors. I'm never switching again.
Their stuff doesn't work. I wear it and still sweat profusely even in freezing weather. This ongoing problem has plagued me for a year. Time to switch brands.
The advertising is terrible and inappropriate. It completely turned me off from purchasing old spice anymore. Whoever came up with that campaign made a terrible choice.
Their shower gels are outstanding. I've been buying them for years and they stay fragrant and excellent. Procter & Gamble really makes some solid products.
Been using their shower gels for a decade and they remain fantastic. Great fragrances throughout, and Procter & Gamble consistently delivers quality products.
I've been using old spice soft solid swagger antiperspirant and deodorant for years, and later switched to the stronger version. Lately the formula seems different. The antiperspirant performance has dropped off noticeably. I understand sweating happens with my job, but it used to last way longer. Now I'm lucky to get an hour of dryness before it gives out. The scent deserves the three stars I'm giving because that's held up better. The body wash still works fine too. Hopefully the company can figure out how to bring back the dryness performance that made this product great.
