The bottle I received was worth at least $125 less than what I paid for. I asked if I could just keep it and they said no problem, they'd fix it. But after I asked for a return label they went silent. So now I'm stuck with an overpriced bottle of something I didn't order. Tried reaching out multiple times and got basically no response or help getting my refund.
Was in town for work and wanted to grab a gift for my dad who really enjoys his whiskey, being Irish and all. I don't drink myself, but the staff here were super friendly and helped me pick out something good based on what I told them about his tastes. It's nice to see a family operation like this still around. My dad loved the gift, by the way.
Started off rough with my order. The site showed Pomp & Whimsy Gin Liqueur in stock, but I got sent regular Pomp & Whimsy Gin instead. I reached out to their sales team and got offered a 10% refund to just keep what arrived. That wasn't going to cut it for me since I wanted the actual item I paid for. They then claimed the liqueur wasn't even in their catalog. Why list something you don't actually have? Pretty frustrating start. I was ready to write this place off completely and warn everyone I could find online. Then the owner Vin actually called me. Super nice guy who genuinely wanted to fix things. We talked through it and he went hunting in the warehouse. Turns out they DID have the correct bottle after all. Within 15 minutes I had a tracking number and my replacement was headed my way. Really turned things around.
Fair warning: these people are smooth talkers but absolutely don't order from Quality Liquor Store. Back in January I ordered a bottle of Le Portier straight from their website. Never showed up. I kept emailing and calling and got nothing back. Nearly a month went by before I got a response saying they'd look into it and get back to me. Spoiler alert: they didn't. I filed a fraud dispute with my bank and I'm still waiting for that refund. I even took it to the Better Business Bureau. Then I thought I found an official Le Portier preorder site and placed another order on February 11th. After weeks passed with no update, I contacted them and guess what email address came back? The same sales address Quality Liquor uses. So I'd gone around in circles and now I was out money twice since the first situation never got resolved. Don't make my mistake. Stay away from this company completely.
This is my second time ordering from them. First purchase was okay though it took forever. Second time was a nightmare. A week and a half went by with zero updates, so I emailed asking what was going on. Nothing. Few days later I decided I wanted to cancel and it went through, but they charged me 10% as a cancellation fee. The kicker? They didn't even have the item in stock, they were just waiting to get it in. So they sold me something they didn't have, and then punished me 10% for canceling. That's a straight up scam. Go to a brick and mortar shop instead of getting ripped off online.
I ordered something on January 11th and it's been over a month. Can't get anyone to respond to my emails and they're not picking up the phone. This operation seriously needs to be investigated and shut down. I'm considering getting law enforcement involved at this point.
Their customer service is lacking big time. Emails go unanswered and you get no assurance about whether your shipment is actually happening. I'm still trying to figure out where my order went. Won't be ordering from this company ever again.
These folks operate like a scam. They'll charge you, generate a shipping label so you think it's actually happening, then the item never goes out. When you ask for your money back, they won't process it. Had to dispute it with my credit card company instead. Stay far away from this operation.
I'm blown away by how great this place is! The selection of spirits they carry is seriously impressive, and their customer service team is absolutely outstanding. Finding an online liquor retailer willing to ship to Virginia has been a headache, but I finally found them. Been super satisfied with every order until one shipment got held up by FedEx in California and never left. I called right away and the owner Sal got back to me fast, apologized, and reshipped everything without charging me a cent. Quality Liquor Store is definitely my new go-to, and I tell everyone I know to check them out. Amazing inventory and truly excellent support.
