What Shoppers Say About Territorial Seed
Territorial Seed receives polarized feedback from shoppers, with opinions split sharply between satisfied and dissatisfied customers. Positive reviewers praise the company's customer service, product quality (particularly tomato plants and seeds), variety of heirloom and specialty varieties, and fast shipping. They appreciate the ability to select specific plant varieties and have them delivered directly to their homes.
Negative reviews cite significant issues with seed germination rates, small packet sizes relative to pricing, shipping delays (orders taking 11+ days to process despite 48-hour promises), and problematic delivery timing for live plants. One customer received strawberry plants during frozen conditions in Maine with inadequate guidance on storage, while another experienced poor sprouting success with purchased seeds despite having gardening experience. Customer service accessibility appears limited, with at least one reviewer unable to find contact information to resolve shipping delays.

Sorted by: Most recentSpent around $200 on seeds for my big garden and was let down. The packet sizes seemed really small for what I paid. More importantly, the seeds just haven't been sprouting well. Spring's been late this year, but I've got plenty of gardening experience and know what should work in late March and early April. So far I'm pretty unhappy with how things are going. Planning to give an update once I plant seeds for May. Haven't reached out to their customer service yet, but I'll definitely do that if the sprouting issues keep happening. I've tried over a dozen different seed varieties so far.
Ordered strawberry plants in the fall for spring delivery according to their website timeline of March shipping. Received them yesterday but there's still snow on the ground here in central Maine and everything's frozen solid. When I reached out asking what I should do for the next 10 weeks, they suggested putting them in a bucket of sand in a cool dark place and keeping them moist. This whole situation was frustrating and I won't be ordering from them again.
First time ordering from this company and it's been a disaster. I got an order confirmation email right after placing my order that said it would ship within 48 hours. It's been 11 days now and my order still hasn't even been processed. Even worse, I can't find any way to contact anyone through their website or email to ask about what's going on with my order. I tried looking up my order on their site but it's still showing as unprocessed.
Fantastic experience with this company! Their customer service is top notch and the products are really excellent. The mail-order tomato plants are fantastic and I'll definitely be ordering them year after year. I can pick exactly the varieties I'm looking for and they show up right at my house. They're super helpful whenever you have a question or run into any issues. Highly recommend!
