What Shoppers Say About Tijuana Flats
Tijuana Flats receives mixed feedback from shoppers, with opinions split between enthusiastic regulars and those seeking more consistency. Reviewers consistently praise the fresh ingredients, customizable sauce bar, laid-back atmosphere, and attentive staff service. The tacos and burritos stand out as menu highlights, and many shoppers appreciate the welcoming environment. However, several reviewers note that food quality can be inconsistent, with some dishes tasting bland or falling short of expectations. A few shoppers also mention wanting expanded vegetarian and vegan options.
The restaurant appears to deliver strong service experiences that sometimes extend beyond typical fast-casual operations, though the actual food execution seems to vary by visit or location. Shoppers looking for fresh Mexican fare with customization will likely find value here, but those seeking consistently bold flavors may have occasional disappointments.

Sorted by: Most recentI usually eat at the local location once a week and it's been really solid. The food quality is great and the people are friendly. I've gotten several of those scratch-off coupons over time, so I saved one for a $5 off $25 deal to use on my next visit. When I tried to redeem it at a different location, the server told me I couldn't use it because it had to be scratched off in front of them and signed by a manager. Nobody explained these rules when I got the coupon with my last meal, so I was pretty frustrated. I understand the requirements now, but the way they handled it felt bad. I really love their Flautas, but having to basically beg for the discount after working through all these hoops felt like they needed that five dollars more than I did, so I just left without buying anything.
We were really disappointed with our visit to this location in Orlando. We usually go to the one in Winter Garden where the food is consistently great, but we decided to try this spot since we were nearby and in a hurry. The customer service was awful and the food wasn't good either. The chips tasted stale, our tacos barely had any filling, and my fish tacos didn't taste fresh at all. The portion sizes were so small it was embarrassing. Plus, the staff didn't seem engaged or professional. Even though it wasn't busy when we were there, everything felt off. For what we paid, we definitely could've found better food elsewhere. The quality across the board was lacking, and the service definitely didn't match what we expect from this place. We're not going back, and we're letting people know about this disappointing experience.
Been a regular since my college days and honestly, nothing's changed in the best way possible. Their burritos are what keep me coming back, and switching to the whole grain wrap was a great choice without sacrificing any taste. The food quality remains consistently awesome. This place is a staple for me.
