When I emailed asking about it, they confirmed it would auto-renew. I reached out well ahead of time requesting cancellation and got an email confirming the cancellation. Then they charged me anyway. I'd steer clear of this company. Update: The company sent an apology saying there was confusion between their 'membership' and 'auto renewal' features - apparently they're different things, which seems odd. They said they'd fix the confusing messaging going forward and clarified my card wasn't actually charged. Given that, I'm changing my rating from 2 to 3 stars.
I'm frustrated with how this works. Half the time I don't understand what the app is asking me to do, and the speech recognition is all over the place - sometimes it accepts my pronunciation, sometimes it doesn't, with no explanation. Even worse, I can complete lessons and get answers right without actually learning how to communicate in the language. It's not helping me at all.
Be warned - this company is taking people's money! My elderly mother paid for a full year through Apple Pay and hasn't had access for two months now. Customer support claims they can't locate her payment even though all the receipts are there. They received the money, won't provide the service, and apparently don't care. Very negligent handling of customers. Zero support and extremely unprofessional interactions. Be very careful with this company.
