Staples Return Policy

In-store purchases must be returned to a retail store. Items bought online can be returned to a store or shipped back using the convenient free online returns process. You’ll need the original receipt or packing slip to complete the return.
For purchases made with a credit card, the refund will be credited back to the original card. Cash or debit card purchases in-store will be refunded in cash. If you made a purchase over $500 with cash, debit card, or check without the card, you will be refunded with a corporate check.
The value of any promotional item or gift card received with your original purchase will be deducted from your refund amount.
Once your return is received at the Staples warehouse, a refund is typically issued within 3–5 business days for major credit cards, 7–10 business days for a mailed check, and within 72 hours for Easy Rewards points.
