Tgifridays Reviews
TGI Fridays receives sharply divided feedback, with shoppers either praising exceptional service experiences or reporting significant problems. Positive reviewers highlight attentive staff who create welcoming atmospheres and deliver hot food promptly, with some servers going the extra mile to make occasions feel special. However, the majority of reviews detail serious operational failures: extremely slow service (45-minute waits for dessert, 2.5-hour seating delays), noisy dining environments, unclean tables, duplicate billing without refunds, aggressive tipping practices with repeated requests, and small portions at premium prices.
Consistency appears to be the core issue at TGI Fridays. While individual staff members receive genuine praise, systemic problems such as inadequate table management, slow kitchen and dessert service, and unclear billing practices create negative experiences that overshadow positive interactions. The restaurant seems to deliver well only sporadically, making it difficult for customers to know what to expect from a visit.
The service from Trina, Sofia, and Joanne was fantastic, especially since it was my birthday. They made the day feel special, the food arrived hot, and the atmosphere was really welcoming and warm.
Had a disappointing visit to TGI Fridays at Rushden Lakes on a Saturday night and it fell way short. Maybe I'm not their typical customer at 50, but the basics of what makes a good dining experience were just not there. The place was extremely loud, and there was this constant noise from a blender that kept cutting into conversations at our table. On top of that, when the food got to us, it was cold. Cleanliness was another major problem. The restrooms were in terrible condition and clearly hadn't been checked or cleaned in ages. Despite all the Friday's branding and festive theming, the dirty facilities and cold food made for a pretty awful night. We definitely won't be coming back for a Saturday dinner. There are way better spots to choose from at Rushden Lakes.
The service was absolutely terrible. After finishing the main course, I waited 45 minutes for dessert. Then when dessert finally came, I had to wait another 30 minutes. Once I was done, I stood by the door for 20 minutes trying to catch someone's attention to bring the bill.
Went to the location in Niagara Falls with 3 friends and ordered food and drinks. I was shocked to see an 18 percent tip automatically added to the bill, but I figured okay and went with it. Then when my Visa was processed, another tip request popped up asking for 18, 22, or 25 percent. That felt really insulting. I'm concerned people who don't speak English as their first language might get tricked into paying double tips like that.
TGI Fridays at the O2 was an absolute mess. They told us the wait would be about an hour but we ended up waiting over two and a half hours. Tables were disgusting with dirty plates being carried back and forth across the dining area. The management was completely unhelpful. The meat looked like it came straight from a freezer. The bathrooms weren't even functioning properly but they kept serving food anyway, which shouldn't be allowed. When our group complained multiple times, nobody cared. It only got their attention when I said we were going to sit down at the next open table and demand service. I've eaten out a lot and never seen anything like this. I actually refused to pay for my meal, which was a first for me. Stay far away from this location.
They billed me twice and even after following up for more than a week, still no refund. On top of that, the service during the meal was below par. The nachos were tiny portions but charged at a premium price.
Got charged twice on my bill and still waiting for my refund even after bugging them about it for over a week. The actual dining experience wasn't great either. Plus those nachos were ridiculously small and way overpriced for what you get.
The food was delicious and the service was top notch as always. TJ at the Watford restaurant was incredibly helpful.
Excellent service and fantastic food like always. TJ at the Watford spot went above and beyond to help us out.
I ordered drinks and had to ask about them 20 minutes later since they'd forgotten about us. When they finally came out, there were no glasses so I had to request those too. My beer was warm. Then I waited 40 minutes for the food even though we were told 20 minutes because we had a train to catch. When it finally arrived, everything was lukewarm. Cold chips and barely warm spare ribs aren't appetizing, and I would have sent it back but we needed to leave for our train. The service at this Westfield Stratford location was terrible, with warm drinks and hot food that arrived cold. We won't be returning.
What a complete mess that was! We'd reserved a table in advance at Cribbs Causeway for my daughter's birthday. The restaurant was practically empty, maybe half full at best. We got drinks with the refill deal and placed our food order. The first drinks took about 10 minutes, then we sat around for over 40 minutes with no food and nobody offered to refill anything. Finally a server comes by and asks if we've gotten our food yet, which we obviously hadn't, and admits she doesn't know what's taking so long. That's not an answer I want to hear from someone working there. After we pushed back, food showed up pretty quickly, but we'd already been waiting almost 50 minutes from when we ordered. At that point we weren't feeling dessert anymore and asked for the bill. Then we had to wait another 15 minutes while they went to grab the card reader, and I had to directly ask them when I could actually pay. The server apologized saying they were really busy, but I'm telling you the dining room was nowhere near full. Communication was basically nonexistent and there was no visible management anywhere. Everyone on the team seemed totally lost with no guidance. They never offered anything to make up for that ridiculous wait with zero explanation.
That was a total disaster! I booked a table ahead of time at the Cribbs Causeway location for my daughter's birthday. The place was barely half full. We ordered drinks with the refill option and food. The first round of drinks took about 10 minutes to get to us. Then we just sat there with nothing happening for over 40 minutes. A waitress finally came over asking if we'd gotten our food yet, which we hadn't, and she said she had no idea what was taking so long. How do you work there and not know that? After we pointed out this wasn't acceptable, our food showed up pretty quickly but it was already nearly 50 minutes since we'd ordered. We weren't even interested in dessert at that point and asked for the bill. Paying took another 15 minutes because they had to go find the card machine, and I had to literally ask when I could actually settle up. The lady apologized and claimed they were slammed, but the dining room was less than half full. There was basically zero communication and no manager anywhere to be found. The staff looked completely lost and had no direction. They didn't offer any discount or make up for the massive wait with no real explanation.
I used to be a loyal customer at TGI Fridays, but recent visits have really turned me off. Last night was the final straw. The staff was dismissive and didn't seem to care about us at all. We waited 30 minutes after ordering for our drinks to arrive, then another 25 minutes past that before our food came out. My daughter's meal appeared first and she finished eating before ours even hit the table. When I brought this up to a server, they basically said kids' meals always come first without any apology or acknowledgment that this made for an awkward family dinner. I asked to speak with a manager, but they showed zero concern about how frustrated we were. When my pasta finally arrived, it was honestly disgusting, sitting in a pool of greasy oil. I'm done with this place. It's become overpriced, unwelcoming, and has gone downhill fast over the past year. Used to be one of our go-to spots but those days are long gone. I'd advise everyone to skip it.
TGI Fridays Tinsley in Sheffield served me the worst meal I can remember having at any restaurant. None of the four dishes we ordered were even decent, let alone good. The glazed burger with bacon had no bacon on it, and when we complained they brought out what looked like burnt scraps from the grill. The glazed chicken burger at least had bacon but it was charred black. The full rack of JD ribs came with warm coleslaw and no JD sauce even though that's what's advertised. Everything was ice cold. The ultimate American grill had a cold tomato, corn that wasn't cooked through, a ruined steak when we ordered medium rare, and the chicken was missing the lemon and garlic. The only warm items were the glasses. I also noticed a toddler being let to walk across the entire length of a table meant for eight people. We paid 131 pounds for this nightmare. Never coming back.
I'm really let down by TGI's Norwich. My partner and I have been coming here for over 5 years and absolutely loved it every time. We came in for my partner's birthday and our server Lilli-Ma just seemed like she didn't want to be there. The whole place felt unwelcoming and that's so different from how it used to be. My sesame chicken, which I've always gotten and enjoyed, didn't taste right this time and was missing the sauce that normally comes on the side. The side salad was the tiniest one I've ever seen, almost like they were running low on supplies. To make it worse, my daughter's burger came burnt and without the fruit and salad sides that are supposed to come with it according to the menu. Really disappointed overall and that's not like me to complain, but this place really dropped the ball today.
