WD Reviews
WD has a severely troubled reputation based on customer feedback, with 23 shoppers rating the company 2.1 out of 5. The overwhelming majority of reviews are one-star ratings citing critical issues: defective storage devices that fail within years with inadequate warranty support, extremely slow replacement processes lasting months with additional shipping fees, non-responsive customer service, and product failures that result in data loss requiring expensive professional recovery. One reviewer reported a NAS device that crashed during a firmware update and became completely unresponsive, while another experienced a failed external drive after just two years. Shoppers consistently report feeling abandoned by customer support and express they will not purchase from WD again.
A small minority of positive reviews (26 percent five-star ratings) suggest some customers have had acceptable experiences, but these are vastly outnumbered by complaints. Additional concerns include payment processing problems, unclear transaction completions, and allegations of fraudulent practices with orders disappearing into months-long backlogs. The pattern across reviews indicates systemic problems with product reliability, warranty honoring, customer service responsiveness, and order fulfillment rather than isolated incidents.
If you're thinking about working for WeDeliverCars, I'd really encourage you to check out what people are saying first. My time there was honestly awful. I put in 6 full days of work, regularly doing 16+ hour shifts, and walked away with just £155 total. That's nowhere near fair compensation for the hours I was putting in. When I quit, they pulled a £200 deposit from my paycheck even though I hadn't been there long and didn't put up that much money myself. They said they'd only give it back once I returned their equipment, which means a big chunk of what I earned is basically locked up. This setup really isn't fair to drivers, especially folks just starting out who might not understand how the payment system actually works. If you're considering this, take time to read other people's experiences and really think about whether it's worth it. Based on what happened to me, I can't recommend it.
Waited over three months for WD to send a replacement for a bad drive that cost me over 800 euros. They misplaced my serial number in their system for a whole month during this period. On top of that I had to pay fees and shipping for this wonderful experience. Lost my business completely and I won't purchase anything from them again. When something breaks, and it happens regularly with storage devices, waiting months isn't realistic. The whole situation is unacceptable.
Never been this let down by a company before. My NAS WD My Cloud Home device crashed mid firmware update and now it won't respond to anything, stuck offline constantly. Since it's a NAS I can't even hook up directly. WD customer support was a complete waste and useless. My only option is hiring a professional to pull my data for nearly a thousand dollars. Over a firmware update? I want to make sure this experience gets out there so nobody else gets caught in this nightmare. Can't reach my business files for my clients, stuck paying for expensive recovery, plus the device itself. All because of a firmware glitch.
My WD 4TB passport gave out after just 2 years and I lost critical work information. The company offers basically nothing in terms of support or warranty coverage. You really can't rely on this company. I'd give them zero stars if I could.
Their payment system seems to have serious issues, whether it's technical glitches or intentional fraud is unclear. Ordered an MP3 player, filled everything out, got sent to Paypal with various options. Used iDeal and everything seemed okay until after I paid, then instead of going back to their site I just got a little message saying the merchant would call me. After waiting 15 minutes with no confirmation I reached out to support. They told me there was no order at all. I was shocked, so I asked them to look into the payment and they couldn't, saying to contact Paypal. I set up a Paypal account just to ask them and they said they couldn't see anything either, said contact the bank. The bank confirmed the payment went through so I should bug the merchant. Money vanished and no one can find it. UPDATES: Eventually got my refund but it took forever. Still really disappointed and wouldn't recommend shopping there.
This site is nothing but fraud. They grab your money and your order never gets shipped. Don't buy anything here. I've been sitting around for 9 months waiting for a jacket. They'll claim they sold the business and are backed up on orders, which is just their scam to hold onto your cash. Check your credit card statements too because they'll charge you repeatedly.
Total scam, nothing arrived after two months. I got an email saying the order was processed and shipped with tracking info below it, but we never got anything. Please don't order from these people and definitely read the reviews first. It's sad that some folks resort to stealing instead of earning honestly, especially taking advantage of hardworking people.
WD delivered a defective unit. Called them up and they said I could return it for a full refund and would email a UPS label. I asked for a paper label since I don't have a printer and there's no UPS location nearby. Got an electronic code instead so I had to drive to the next town for a UPS spot. They said refunds take 7 to 10 business days. That was about a month back and no refund and zero updates from them. When I tried reaching out to support again today, I got a message saying they can't handle requests at the moment. Not trustworthy at all.
It's been over a month and nothing has shown up. The company has no clue where the tracking information is and then they hit you with this whole complicated return process if the package happens to arrive sometime down the road.
Wouldn't call this a legitimate operation. Orders don't show up, refund paperwork looks sketchy, and then they start charging you almost $20 every month for a membership you never agreed to. Don't go near this place. Good luck getting anyone on the phone or through email either.
I tried leaving feedback here but the site blocks responses. WD Styles is running a scam, plain and simple. If you already bought something, you're probably out of luck, and if you haven't yet, seriously don't do it. They took my cash, never sent anything, and kept making excuses about my refund until they just flat out said nope. The Better Business Bureau didn't help at all. STAY AWAY AND TELL PEOPLE YOU KNOW.
Why can't you register these products on their website? I attempted it from a computer, an iPad, and an iPhone. Their upload system wouldn't take a picture of my receipt no matter what. I tried different formats and still nothing worked. The actual drive is fine but their registration site is completely broken.
Going through these other reviews, I was shocked to see such poor ratings for Sandisk, which I thought was decent. My Sandisk SSD quit working so I sent it back under warranty. A month goes by and UPS, who handles their returns, mails back an empty envelope. Someone ripped it open during shipping and took the drive. UPS has been a nightmare with their broken claim system. At least Sandisk and Western Digital said they'd swap it out. But here we are from December through March with zero progress. I've followed up constantly through email and their terrible support portal and it's always the same response about it being processed with shipping details coming soon, except they never do. I'm not optimistic about getting back the £109 that got lost between UPS and Sandisk/Western Digital.
Just lost my second WD Green 2TB drive. Their drives are absolutely terrible. I'm done with them completely. Won't even touch their passport drives after my buddy's 1TB passport stopped working on her this year.
Got a WD Blue PC SSD 500GB and three months later, barely using it for some programming work on my laptop, I heard a weird noise and the drive just vanished from my system. Tried another SSD I had and it worked fine. Called them a couple times and explained everything. Still under warranty since it was so new. They said they'd replace it so I shipped it through USPS. The tracking shows it got there but nothing on their website tells me when it arrived or what's happening with it. Haven't heard anything since. That drive cost me $50 and as a student that's big money. STOP BUYING FROM THEM.
