The salesperson misled us about the final price to get us to switch from another company. They claimed what we were quoted was the actual final cost, but neglected to mention that if diesel prices exceeded $3 per gallon, the quote wouldn't be valid, which was the case. They intentionally withheld this information. They also added a repositioning fee for every mile of the move on top of the original quote, which ended up being an extra $1500 we didn't expect. Hoping the rest of our move goes smoothly, but it's really hard to move past knowing the salesperson deliberately deceived us.

On moving day, they completely forgot about us. I had to chase them down by phone. I was told they couldn't find the moving crew that was supposed to come. The movers finally showed up at 5:30 pm, way behind schedule. They started packing but then stopped midway and told us they needed $300 cash to finish the job, even though we'd already paid for the entire service including loading and unloading. When I refused, they weren't happy about it, but I had to insist they complete what they were paid for. The delivery dates kept changing too. We agreed on a specific day but it didn't happen. Then they said it could happen another day, but it didn't. This happened multiple times over several days. Eventually our belongings arrived much later than promised. There was even confusion about which state the container was in at one point. When everything finally got to our new house, some items were broken. We filed a damage claim, but they denied it, saying it couldn't have happened while in their care. This whole experience was a nightmare.

I called Pack Rat several times asking to switch to an 8 foot container. I got transferred around four times with extremely long hold periods. When I explained that I have a disability, they transferred me to loyalty, and the representative told me I had personal issues. I'm hearing impaired and felt discriminated against. This is not how customers should be treated. I've reported this to the Department of Transportation, other federal agencies, and my security office since I'm relocating under government orders. I'm pursuing legal action over disability discrimination.

Communication with this company is terrible. They picked up my container today for a 600 mile delivery scheduled for October 16th, and I've been calling repeatedly with massive wait times all day. One representative was incredibly rude to me. When I asked about delivering a day earlier on the 15th, they flat out refused, even though we're only on the 6th. On top of that, they billed me $75 more than what we'd agreed to. I've never had such a poor experience with a business. Looking back, I should've gone with the bigger container company like people warned me to.

Stay away from this company. They don't follow through on their promises. Customer support is hostile and unhelpful. My containers are now a week behind schedule and when my spouse called asking about it, they basically told her to just grab some groceries and deal with it. Save your money and pick someone else.

NEVER use this company. Every single stage of our long distance move has been botched, costing us money or causing real problems. Every conversation I have with their team shows they don't have a clue what's happening. Here's what went wrong: The empty container never showed up on the scheduled day and didn't arrive until 11pm the next day, forcing us to pay extra to extend our apartment move-out. The pickup took five days longer than promised, which meant parking tickets since the container sat in guest spots longer than allowed. Now we're two weeks past the delivery date we agreed to and still don't have our stuff. I've talked to so many different specialists and supervisors I've lost track. Each one promises a delivery date and time that never happens. We keep hearing excuses like the container got accidentally marked as on hold, they ran out of drivers, or something similar keeps going wrong.

This company isn't worth it. They have surprise charges nobody tells you about upfront like fuel surcharges. Getting into your account online is a nightmare since their website constantly crashes. The container they brought had rust and holes in it, and when I mentioned it, the delivery person just shrugged and said that was all they had. The seal was broken and dangling. I took tons of photos to document it. Getting customer service is really tough. I asked them to send me an itemized email with every fee included, they claimed they did but nothing showed up. Look at reviews on multiple sites before committing.

The drop-off and pickup were seamless, plus having the option to store the container and access it within a day or two before the final delivery was really convenient. The delivery itself was quick and easy, and the crew was so friendly. I'd definitely use them again for any long distance relocation.
