Wanted to pick up some gift items from the food hall like chocolates, biscuits, and gin, but after grabbing a handful of products without seeing price tags on them, I ended up leaving empty-handed.

I bought a bottle of Chanel perfume online as a Mother's Day present for my mum. When the package arrived, the outer cardboard was crushed and the perfume box itself had damage from being wrapped only in tissue paper. As a gift, it looked disappointing. I reached out to customer service and was offered a £10 credit for the problem. Since it was meant as a gift, I felt that wasn't sufficient and mentioned I'd prefer a replacement. They told me they don't offer exchanges or replacements. I'm really let down by how they handled this. I'm now without the gift I wanted to give and out the money until they get the damaged item back. I'll have to shop somewhere else and spend the same amount again, plus I have the hassle of waiting at home for the courier to pick up the damaged goods. I've been a loyal Fenwick customer for years, shopping at the Newcastle location and eating at their restaurants, so I expected better. It's disappointing they weren't willing to resolve this with a replacement.

I stopped by the Armani counter today and was approached by a staff member who offered assistance. After she applied some foundation samples on my face, I noticed her chatting with a coworker about lunch plans. That didn't bother me too much, but when it came time to purchase the £49 foundation, I was surprised she didn't offer to wrap it or provide a bag. She just handed me the receipt and off I went. I couldn't help but wonder whether my casual athletic wear, simple style, or accent played a role, or if she was simply too busy. It's worth mentioning this was my first Armani purchase as I usually go for Lancome and Dior instead. I'm hesitant to return to that counter anytime soon.

Don't recommend ordering here. My order got sent to a random store location without any request from me for that arrangement. When I contacted Fenwick multiple times about it, the response was inadequate. One manager didn't seem to understand basic consumer protection laws that were clearly broken. Better to shop elsewhere and steer clear of this place completely.

Visited the Tunbridge Wells location wanting to purchase a high-end bag, but the staff member in that section wasn't helpful at all. She was sitting on the sofa with her leg up, distracted by her phone. My husband and I were discussing the bag and couldn't locate a price anywhere, yet she never came over to check on us or offer assistance. I decided to give it another shot with a different approach, but the two other staff members who came by barely acknowledged us, let alone smiled. Some of these bags retail for over £2000. For salespeople, their lack of engagement was pretty shocking. I won't be returning to shop in that department again.

We're so excited that Oka opened a shop-in-shop at the Newcastle Fenwick location. It's like stepping into a wonderland of beautiful items. We much prefer shopping in person rather than online, and browsing Oka's creative selection here is such a joy. Victoria, the designer working at the Oka space, is always so thoughtful and has wonderful suggestions. Really fantastic!
