Blueair Air Purifiers Reviews
Blueair Air Purifiers receives overwhelmingly negative feedback, with 23 shoppers rating the store at 1.2 out of 5. The dominant complaint across reviews centers on customer service failures: unresponsive email support, an AI-powered help system that creates frustration rather than solutions, long resolution times, and broken promises about replacements. Multiple reviewers report hardware reliability issues including units that stop working within days or months, power cord problems, and defective humidifiers requiring multiple replacements. The subscription management system also generates errors that prevent customers from making changes. A very small number of shoppers report positive experiences with product performance on allergies, but these are vastly outnumbered by complaints about both product durability and the company's unwillingness to stand behind its items.
Beyond equipment failures, reviewers highlight problems with the ordering and replacement process itself: confusing serial number entry systems, excessive follow-up questions before refusing help, strict no-return policies when customers order incorrect filters, and subpar replacement filter quality. The consensus suggests that even when products initially function, customers face significant barriers to getting support or replacements when issues arise.
Horrible experience with their customer service team. They don't actually listen to what customers are saying. The unit itself doesn't work properly and the company won't stand behind it. Even worse is how their staff handles things through email, promising replacements and then asking endless follow-up questions before ultimately refusing to help. When you try to get their attention about something specific, they just ignore you completely. I wouldn't recommend buying from them since the product doesn't function right and the support is terrible.
Their customer service is really disappointing. I spent three straight days dealing with BlueAir and their awful AI-powered help system about a problem with my filter subscription. I wanted to cancel one subscription that would be replaced by another one, but the management page kept throwing an error saying something went wrong loading my subscriptions. What's funny is that the confirmation email for the NEW subscription told me to go to that exact page, but neither subscription would show up there. The AI customer service just kept repeating the same unhelpful solutions over and over. Eventually the system pushed me to talk to an actual person (though I'm not entirely sure they were real) who told me there's a known bug and I should try using a PC and a different browser instead of my Mac. Two problems with this: First, why didn't the AI know about this known issue and give me that answer the many times I asked for help? Second, the actual person wasn't much better than the AI. It then took forever just to get them to cancel a subscription I couldn't even see, and then they asked if I wanted to cancel the new one too.
I've had to replace my Dream Well Humidifier H76i three times in just three months. The first one stopped working after two months, the second one broke after three days, and the third one never worked at all from day one. These units are not worth your money. The company clearly has no idea how to manufacture humidifiers. Their air filters are acceptable though.
Their customer service is really bad. BlueAir doesn't answer emails or respond to customers at all. They said they'd replace my unit because the power cord popped out, but I haven't heard from them in a week. A loose cable is actually a widespread problem with their purifiers. Go ahead and get an air purifier, just not from blueair.
This unit works great for me. My allergies are so much better and I don't get itchy eyes anymore.
I should have checked reviews first before buying. Both of these products turned out to be terrible. The replacement filters are subpar, and the site is confusing when trying to order replacements (enter a serial number and get an error, use a model number and get dozens of options). Watch out because they won't accept returns if you order the wrong part. Don't buy from them.
Regret not checking reviews before purchasing. These products are not good quality. The new filters you have to buy are poor quality, and their website makes it nearly impossible to figure out what to buy. Enter a serial number and you get an error. Use a model number and you get hundreds of options to choose from. Fair warning though if you order the wrong thing, they won't accept returns on it. Best to look elsewhere.
The customer support here is absolutely unacceptable and I'm upset with my purchase decision. Not only did they send me a broken air purifier once, but twice. When it came time for a replacement, they wanted to ship me another unit with the identical defect. I feel bad for all their retail partners who have to deal with unhappy customers because of BlueAir's incompetence. Over four months of back and forth emails and they haven't fixed a single thing. The retailer has been much more helpful than BlueAir themselves.
The 7770i looks impressive, but the technology doesn't work well. The wifi connection fails constantly, the screen freezes up, and night mode stays dark once you get it connected, but then you can't access it again to fix it since it won't connect. There's absolutely no customer support available, I've sent multiple emails and gotten zero replies. The tech is just broken. I purchased three units and I'm returning all of them. Super disappointing because I really wanted these to work out.
Way too pricey for what you get, especially with the app features, but the app loses connection all the time and getting it to reconnect is basically impossible. When you try reaching their support team, they just send you a massive form requesting all your personal details and information. Who has hours to fill all that out? Just don't buy this product.
Similar to many others, I'm frustrated by the complete lack of technical help and customer support. My Blue 3350i that I bought at a retailer in July quit working. The unit powers on fine but the fan doesn't spin. Because the company is based in Sweden and uses local distributors in other countries, they essentially offer zero technical help. In the UK specifically, you have to fill out a form and wait for them to respond, try some basic troubleshooting steps yourself, and then send them a bunch of documentation including a video showing the problem. It's all stalling tactics. You get the sense they don't trust customers and aren't genuinely interested in keeping you as one. This isn't the kind of product where you can easily return it with no questions. They'll stall and drag their feet, probably hoping you'll give up and stop asking. I'm many emails deep with nothing to show for it yet. Not hopeful about how they'll handle this going forward. After going back and forth many times, I did eventually get a replacement. However, they never picked up the broken unit from my place. Reading other customer experiences has made me question the company's future.
One star is actually too generous for this company. Like many reviewers have mentioned, the charcoal filter gives off a nasty chemical smell. Worse than that though, it nearly poisoned my cat. My cat started acting strangely shortly after I turned it on. Within a few days, she became really sick. Once I shut it off, she started feeling better. I called their support and they said to just open a window and leave it running. Are you serious? For how long? Until the chemicals that shouldn't be there disappear on their own? An air purifier that actually makes the air worse is unbelievable. Total waste of money.
To be fair, the 3410 air purifier itself worked great throughout the year I've had it. It can be a little loud on the highest settings, but all the positive reviews about the product seemed justified. The problem came when I needed to get a new filter. Turns out this unusual proprietary filter that only this company uses has been discontinued. Now I'm forced to buy expensive leftovers from resellers online, and once those are gone, this will just be an expensive piece of trash for no reason. It's disgusting that a company would create filters that no one else makes and then just stop making them.
Bought the Health Protect 730i for around £800 and the motor quit working after just one year. It clicks all the time now. Reached out to both the company and seller but neither will help. Thing belongs in the trash. Looks fancy but doesn't actually perform well. Louder than competing models that have a cleaner design. Total waste of money. Stay away from this brand. They clearly don't care about their customers.
I'm warning you not to buy anything from this company. Over the years I've ordered quite a few products from them. The thing is, they're just not the same anymore and they've completely abandoned customer service. Used to be excellent, but those days are gone. After being a customer for six years, I'm done with them since their customer service basically doesn't exist.
